Lovely Unlovely Reality Chapter 1
I sighed as I walked into school and
three people made an obvious effort to
stay away from me. Naturally. I was the
girl that wore t-shirts and jeans,
nothing like what the girls that got all
the attention wore, like skirts, dresses,
tank tops, etc. I truthfully have no idea
what I did to be avoided like this.
Finally I get to my locker and my two
best friends are waiting for
me.
"Hellur, Hadley," Keelan
says.
"Hey Keelan, hey Ivy," I say
and smile.
"Luke isn't here yet," Ivy
says and makes a pouty face. I roll my
eyes, but can't help smiling.
She'd been my friend since seventh
grade and Keelan had been since
Kindergarten. Ivy had stood up for me in
seventh against her normal group of
friends and been ignored since then.
"Sheesh, you can't go a day
without seeing that boy and I don't
think he notices any of us," Keelan
points out. It kind of makes me sad since
I had a bit of a crush on Luke, too. We
all did. Figures.
"Well, first period is going to be
all that more boring today," Keelan
states.
"Why?" I ask her.
"Double period," She sighs.
"Oh man," Ivy groans.
"Why? We never have double
periods," I say.
"I know, but Mrs. Johson's out
sick, so everyone that has her has a
double period the class before
hers," Keelan explains.
"There's a such thing as a
substitute teacher," Ivy
mutters.
"Yeah, but apparently they
couldn't be bothered to get a sub
today," Keelan sighs.
"Well, I guess we'd better
go," I say.
"Or we could have a self appointed
ditch day," Ivy mutters.
"Too many already," Keelan
sighs.
"Perfect attendance so far and I
don't really want to lose that,"
i say.
"Why?" They both ask me. I
smile.
"because, I get on certain
people's nerves every time I show
up," I point out.
"Ooh," Ivy says. She's
probably thinking of seventh grade when
she stood up for me to Kenna, Maycie, and
Kaydence.
"i respect that," Keelan
nods.
"Let's go," I say and turn
around.
"Hey, Hadley," kenna says when
I turn around.
"What do you want?" I ask.
"Nothing, I was just wondering if
you'd seen Luke anywhere," She
says.
"No," I say flatly and try to
walk away, but no such luck.
"You were just talking about him
weren't you?" She asks.
"Not really," I tell
her.
"Ok, whatever," She sighs.
I'd gotten off easy today. Thank God,
she was more worried about Luke than she
was me.
"Come on, let's go to
Science," I say.
