two sides to every story.
part 17.
"anything?" I asked, while everyone's heads were
each dug into a book about memory loss.
"nope. None of the things they describe is what you have. None
of the books tell you what to do if you only forget about ONE
person in your life. They all include forgetting everything, or
just your past, or certain specific things like that. Not,
remembering everything, but one certain person..." George
sighed. Then I saw Cameron and Leslie walking together past the
library, laughing and talking to each other. I clenched my jaw and
just glared at them.
"Calm down Jessie, no need to get so worked up over
this.." Jamie sighed. I just shrugged.
-months later-
after that insident in the library and in the caferteria,
Leslie and Cameron started dating. I dispised them being together,
and my teeth gritted together when ever I saw them.
"time to move on." Jeremey said while I was glaring at
them as I was eating my sanwich.
"how. My worst enemey, is dating the girl who I was supposedly
dating." I said. John rolled his eyes, Jamie was half asleep
on his arm, so she was no help.
"you needa get over them being together. It's been two
months." John sighed. I just shrugged.
"will you approve if me and George find you a new
girlfriend." he sighed again.
"depends." I said slowly. He glared at me.
"on?" he asked.
"who she is, how old she is, what she's like... I
don't know." I shrugged. He nodded.
"Trust me. We'll find you someone good. Right
George?" he said. George nodded. I pursed my lips,
thinkingly.
"fine." I nodded. They instantly started talking about
suggestions together.
"After we got tired of being there, we left, and went on a
walk into the commons.
"Hey!, Jessie!" Someone called behind us.
"Stop.." A girl demanded. I turned around anyway, and I
faced with Cameron and Leslie.
"Cameron.. lets leave." She nearly whispered. I could see
pain in her face, but he refused.
"so, guess what I found on the internet the other day."
He said amusedly. All my friends turned around, and walked up
behind me.
"what's your deal man? just leave him alone. Go back to
your own business. Don't start things." John said walking
next to me. Cameron pulled out a sheet of paper from his draw
string backpack, and started reading.
"four kids found in New York. Jessie Drew, Lydia Mason, Abby
Lynn, and Lindsey Hemminger. They were held captive for 14 years in
an un-known residence, by four guys Xavier Cooper....- He trailed
off quickly and just looked down at Leslie. She looked up at him
alarmed, and confused.
"you..?" He asked. She pointed to herself, even more
confused.
"Leslie.." Jamie said slowly. She looked at Jamie, and
they ran off together.
"this was supposed to hurt you. Not her." He
declared.
"well.. that's your problem, I guess." I shrugged,
not sure what else he wanted me to say.
"What's that supposed to mean?" He snarled.
"that I'm not the one trying to hurt someone by making fun
of them of their past, and end up hurting my girlfriend. That's
all your doing.." I shrugged with an amused smile.
"whipe that smirk off your face Drew.." he snarled again,
stepping closer to me.
"Cameron.. just get outta his face.. and walk away. Go find
your girl man." George said walking over to him. He inhaled
deeply, glared at me, and stormed off. I looked at the guys and
just starred back.
"were you really kidnapped for 14 years like he said..?"
Jeremey asked. I nodded. Everyone got silent.
"why have you never told any of us?" John asked
"it.. just never came up in conversation, so i never mentioned
it.. it was just too personal. Leslie probably didn't even
know. I don't know why she ran off.. but the only person who
know was Lydia, because she was there with me, and obviously my
family knew, but that's it." I explained. They all nodded
understandingly.
"if you ever needa talk... we're all here for you, and
Jamie, and probably even Leslie, if you choose to confide in her.
I'm sure she'd understand, and even be happy you would
trust her by telling her. I think she ran off, because that Xavier
guy, and her have the same last name. I'm not sure if
that's her brother though, it could be a cousin or something...
you never know." George shrugged. I nodded, taking his
suggestion into consideration.
