Dear Witty,
     PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ME!
First of all, I want to clear my name and tell you that I'm not MinnesotaNorthstarz33.  I don't have a Witty, but I know TJ from school and she let me use her account to ask you all a scary question.  Breast Cancer.  I know, that wasn't a question.  The question is: How do you know if you should be checked for it?  I'm a 15 year old girl, who barely has breasts, but I'm concerned that I may have a lump in one of them.  There is a hard lump-type thing on the side of one of my breasts, but not the other.  I know that if I have any concerns I should see a doctor, but my family is really tight on money and I feel super guilty when I complain about something that turns out to be nothing.  I'm really scared right now.  My family cannot afford this at all. PLEASE HELP ME!  Do you have any experiences or know what could be going on? I'm sorry that this is so long. I sincerely thank you for reading it.

go see a doctor. it could turn out to be nothing, but it could turn out to be something. i don't think your family will get mad at you for seeing a sign of something that is very serious. you don't want to do nothing and have it turn out to be something. i know it's cleche, but if you see (well in this case feel) somehting, say something. ask your mom about breast cancer and then tell her you're worried you may have found something. you'll feel better if you get it checked out. :)

Thank you all very much! I wasn't sure if it was common at all in girls my age, and that's what scares me the most. After hearing all of that, I will try to find some helps online and if nothing helps I will talk to my mother. Thank you all again!!!

Well, also, one of my friends have a lump under her armpit, and it was like a swollen blocked off sweat gland or something, but I'm not saying you shouldn't see a doctor. It could be serious, so I would definitely see a doctor, that's really scary..! It's kinda or a life or money situation, because it could get worse and you could.. you know.. I think you should mention it at your doctors check up or maybe have your mom make an appointment with your doctor soon. I hope this helps and I honestly hope it is something that isn't serious and it is easily fixable :)

i can tell you this..it is very rare for a girl so young to get breast cancer its like 1 in a million because i read about it in a magazine but its possbile..talk to your mom or someone your close to and ask their opinion before going to a doctor to see if its something else. to be safe though get it checked out you will feel a lot better :) im sure you are okay

This may sound really weird but some people have like "meaty" boobs i guess you could say and i think that it is normal and you will be okay. They thought the same thing about my mom and had her checked but she was fine. I mean if you really are terrified then I guess you could get it checked. Wish you luck

There should be giuds online do you can self-check. If you are still concerned after doing that, then I recommend talking to someone you know about it. It could be serious. You could also think of your family tree and if there is any histroy involving cancer.

are you comfortable showing your mom and asking what she thinks? probably not, so i would get it checked out by the doctors. Thats just me though. better be safe than sorry, right?
