Makeup Tip
#9
This one was requested by
xBornToFlyx. She said that her liquid foundation looks kind
of cakey and icky, and wants to know how to apply it to avoid
this.
I always had trouble with liquid foundation, especially with my
not so great skin. First, use a daily moisturizer.
Foundation tends to cake more on dry skin. Next, use a
FOUNDATION BRUSH. Do not use a sponge. The foundation
brush I use is by Clinique, but they can usually be bought at any
drug store. Squeeze a small amount of foundation onto the
back of your hand (not the one you're holding the brush
in). This helps limit the amount you put on. Apply a
small amount to any area (forehead, cheeks, chin, etc.) Use
quick patting motions as you brush, rather than just sweeping it
straight on. Use a little, then see if you need more to
avoid cakiness. Don't use any more than you need
to.
Another reason your foundation might be cakey is because of the
quality. I use Clinique Perfectly Real foundation (brand
trend here? haha). It's a little pricier, but I find
that it covers smoothly and evenly. It's really just a
matter of trying different foundations out and seeing what works
best for you.
Thanks xBornToFlyx, hope I helped!
