remember the night we spent
together at my house? it was time for you to head home, and
neither of us wanted to say goodnight. i walked you outside, and
we stood on my porch in each others arms. we held each other like
we never wanted to let go. finally, with a kiss, you began to
walk away. before you made it too far, i yelled,
"wait!" you turned around with a smile in your eyes,
and held out your arms for me to run into. we embraced as though
we hadn't seen each other in months.
at last, we pulled back, because you had a curfew to make. i
stood there and watched you walk away, once again. this time you
were the one to stop. you looked over your shoulder at me, and
said, "i love you." i smiled back and replied, "i
love you always." you had turned around and held your arms
out to me once again before i even finished my sentance. once
again i found myself in your arms.
"i really have to go, baby," you said with a look of
regret. i held you tighter. "will you text me when you get
home?" i asked. "as soon as." you kissed my
forehead, and began to leave once more. i swallowed, already
missing you. i called out your name softly, and somehow you must
have heard. you turned and laughed, and held out your arms. i ran
into them, and you picked me up and spun me around, your arms
warm and heavenly around me.
we laughed and kissed once more, as you sat me on my feet.
"i wish you didn't have to go," i said. "i
can't wait for the day we fall asleep and wake up in each
others arms," you replied. i beamed; you always said the
sweetest things. things that made my cheeks darken and my heart
flutter. "i love you. drive safe." i left you with one
more kiss, and regrettfully loosened my grip on your hand. you
walked to your car, all the while looking back at me with that
warm look on your face.
yeah, baby, i remember that night. i miss you.
