Invisible but Invincible
Chapter 28a

(Tayden’s P.O.V)

          After Tiff and Roni went up to Tiff’s room, I didn’t really know how to talk about what went down during tryouts so I decided to let Austin start, but I just felt like I had to tell him about it not really being me.  If I did that, though, I would be letting my best friend and my twin down.  I really do not want to do that and so I just decided to tell the truth, well my side of it, I guess.

          “So, about tryouts earlier, I’m sorry I was being so weird,” I started.

          He looked at me, almost sympathetically or something, “Oh it’s okay.  I was acting sort of strange too.”  The funny thing is that it wasn’t really me acting different, but I wouldn’t really know either side of the story, well fully anyways.

          “The thing is that last year I was on the football team at Conway and I didn’t really know what to expect this year.  I was trying to act put together though because I didn’t want the other players to know that I didn’t really know what to do,” I decided that that was a safe enough answer and stuck with it.  I mean for my side of the story it was a good response, I think.  But that made sense, right?

(Austin’s P.O.V)

          I guess that’s good enough for now, maybe he’ll spill later.  It doesn’t matter though, I mean that made sense.

          “Oh okay,” I smiled, then added, “Yeah about the Mattox and Easton stuff, I just needed to vent, so don’t worry about it.”  I decided to say that to be on the safe side.

          “Yeah for sure, so we cool bro?” he asked.

          I extended a fist so he could fist bump me, “Yeah we’re cool.  So, are you and Roni going on a date tomorrow then?”

          “Yes.  It’s our first formal date but I don’t know where to go for it.  Got any ideas?” he answered.

          “Well I’m going to eat dinner on the roof of my uncle’s restaurant.  But maybe you should go to Dina’s; they have amazing food.  But do you think Tiff will like it?  I wasn’t going to tell anyone, but you are my best friend,” I replied.

          He looked so proud; like I was treating her better than her previous boyfriends.  The thing was, though, that she deserved all this and then some.  He responded, “She will love it, I’m sure.  You know Eggplant Parmesan is her favorite dish, just as a suggestion.”

          I smiled, “Yeah that’s what I was thinking too.  My uncle’s actually well-known in this town because of it.”

**Author’s Note: Well I would bore you with the details of this conversation so I’m going to skip to about a half hour before Austin and Tiffany’s date.**
