The Right Choice

Chapter 1
"Brandon Anthony Aymes! Put me down!" I yelled at my twin brother as he lifted me over his shoulder.
I heard him chuckle as I struggled to break free.
"No can do, little sis." he replied with a smirk.
I rolled my eyes.
I hate when he calls me his "little sis," he's only older by a minute and 15 seconds.
"Shut up Bran, I should be sleeping for another 2 hours." I growled, crossing my arms in defeat.
Brandon dropped me to the ground, making a loud thud!
"Mom wanted to talk to us." Brandon said, plopping on the couch sitting in the corner of the living room.
"Brandon! Darcy! Come here please!" I heard our mom yell, right on cue.
Let me introduce myself and give you a little information on me.
My name's Darcy Aymes, as you've already found out. Currently, I'm 17 years old and a junior, but not for long. The last day of school is today and after that, I can call myself a senior officially.
Most people see me as perfect. The one with light brown hair and piercing green eyes. The captain of the girls soccer and lacrosse team for the past 3 years. Truthfully, I don't see it.
Brandon and I, you can say, are pretty popular at our school. No, it's not because we go around hooking up with people at parties. It's because we're the star players of our teams.
I currently have a boyfriend of 2 years, Jake. Brandon? He and his girlfriend Kyla have been dating for well over a year.
Brandon and I have never met our father, which I'm fine with. Our mom says he walked out on her the moment he found out she was pregnant. Great guy, huh?
"Take a seat." Our mother said sternly, pointing to the seats across from her.
I looked over to Brandon and we both shrugged, doing as our mom said and sitting down.
"Now, you two are probably wondering why I got you up 2 hours before school." Our mom began.
I smirked and crossed my arms in agreement as Brandon leaned back in his chair, placing his hands behind his head.
"This outta be a good one." he mumbled, looking over at me.
I covered my mouth in attempt to control my giggles.
Our mom must have noticed, for she glared at both of us, but soon softened her tensed up face.
I studied my mom's face hard, noticing there wasn't a wrinkle nor crow's foot in sight. Then again, she is only 33. See what I'm saying?
If you guessed that is the reason our dad left us, you're right. Our mom says he told her twins were too much for a 16 year old to handle.
Guess he had no idea how rough it was on our mom.
My thoughts were cut off by my mother's cheery voice.
"I'm getting married."
