I wandered through the jungle
looking for food, or something that looked like food. I saw a tree
with bananas on it, on the top of it. "Ugg!" I said as I
attempted to climb up with tree. My weight held me down. I tried
again and failed badly. This is just like the rope in gym class,
which I also failed at. Gray came through the woods to me,
"Need help?" he said trying not to laugh.
"Stop!" I said laughing "just help me please?"
gray climbed up the tree grabbed a bunch of bananas and climbed
down. He made it look easy. We walked through the wood, silently,
until Gray said, "You have pretty eyes." I was so shocked
that I said ,"WHAT?" he looked at me,"YOU have
pretty eyes, hasn't anybody told you that?" I almost
laughed, until I realized he was serious, "No, nobody has ever
told be I have pretty eyes, never." I said quitely. Then it
was silent again. We walked until sunset and then turned around and
found our way back. I thought about my mom and dad, and how I would
probably die from dehydration or starvation before they found me,
and how we where lost, and nobody knew that. It was almost dark.
Gray got down to the ground and used sticks we found to build a
fire. Finally he got a spark and the fire started up. I looked at
Gray he was so strong, he probably wasn't scared at all and
here I was freaking out. Should I tell him how scared I was? He
probably wouldn't care at all. Gray looked at me, right in my
eyes, "Whats wrong?" he asked. "Oh,
nothing,"was my lame reply. Gray stood up, walked over to me
and sat down. "Whats wrong?" he asked again.
He looked straight at me, he wasnt taking nothing for an answer.
"I'm scared." I finally said,"Really really
scared." Gray put his arm on my shoulder,"Me too."
he said quitely. He kept his eyes on the fire,"When do you
think our parents will find out?" he asked,"Soon I hope,
I miss my mommy and daddy." I answered. "Me too,"
Gray said again. "Me too."
