If I
Die Young ; Part Five
Lynn's Point Of View
The three of us, me, Hailey, and
Eli, hung out a lot over the next week. It was good to have a group
of three because me and Eli could respond to whatever Hailey would
say without looking insane.
On Thursday, we were at Eli's house watching Saw. It was way to
scary for me but Hailey and Eli enjoyed it. It ended quick and our
bowl of popcorn was soon empty. Just as Eli was putting in Saw Two
my phone rang. It was my mom.
"Hey mom," I said.
"Lynn, you should come home. Do you even know what you're
wearing tomorrow?"
I was confused, "What's tomorrow?"
"Oh my, you forgot? Honey, Hailey's funeral is
tomorrow."
I totally forgot, "Alright mom, we're just gonna watch one
more movie and then I'll be home. Alright?"
She sighed, "Alright." With that I hung up.
"I forgot about tomorrow," Hailey said. She was right
next to me listening in.
"I just have to be home after this movie."
"Why? What's tomorrow?" Eli asked.
Me and Hailey sighed. "Uh, Hailey's funeral is
tomorrow," I said.
His face dropped, "Oh. Well, uhm, can I go?"
Hailey let out a short, but genuine laugh. "Of course you can
go. I'd be insulted if you didn't."
We all laughed and started the movie. It was creepy. The worst part
was when this Amanda girl was thrown in a pit of needles and they
had to pull all of them out. It was nasty.
Hailey's Point of View
The movies were awesome. I'm
glad I can still enjoy movies. They don't scare me as much
anymore, though. Lynn freaked out though. It was pretty funny. She
had to leave after the second movie though, her mom probably
wasn't happy she was at a boys house this late. That's why
it sucks that Eli and Lynn aren't the same gender.
I stayed at Eli's, so we could watch the third. I used to laugh
at the people stupid enough to die in these kinds of movies, now
they kind of made me sad. I guess it showed on my face, because Eli
asked, "Hailey? Are you alright?"
I gave a short, harsh laugh, "As good as a dead girl can
get."
"I'm sorry. I didn't, I mean I -"
"It's okay. I'm kidding," I cut him off because I
didn't like making him feel bad.
There was just something about Eli. I hated not seeing him happy. I
couldn't stand him being sad.
