 i handed over my feelings. i tossed over my thoughts. i gave you my heart.
& you took them alright..

you left it to dry in the sun.
you threw it over your shoulder like a penny, in a fountain.
left forever, settled on the floor, waiting to rust.

so you fish it out of the bottom.
you dry it.. you stitch my heart back together, and offer it back to me.

but what you don't understand, is the pain.
