Romeo and Juliet,
With a love so sweet and fair, yet
They were denied by so many
Who were filled with hate and little love, if any.
Lovestruck Romeo was no match
For the sweet Juliet, for she was a catch.
Their love, it cost them both their lives
By use of poison, swords, and knives.
The Friar, it seems, led them astray
For he, along their path, lead the way.
Their poor families could not see
What their children's fate would be.
They were young and in love,
Something their parents knew nothing of.
I'm sure that no one will ever know
What made Juliet love her Romeo.
Nor what made him love his enemy.
It seems like such a mystery.
The answer, to me, it seems is clear.
You can't let go of what you hold dear.
Such is the story, started when they met,
Of Romeo and Juliet.
