There once was a man named Evan who went to heaven. When he
got to heaven, God
was waiting for him. God took Evan to the beach which
represented his life. There were two
sets of footprints that trailed for miles along the white,
powdery beach. Knowing that one pair of the footprints
were his, he asked, “Whose
footprints are by mine?”
And
God replied,
“Those are mine. Our
footprints side by side were the good times in your life, and I
was there through it all.” Then, God took Evan to the other side of
the beach, however, this time; there was only one set of
footprints. “These were the
bad times in your life,” God told Evan.
“Why
weren’t you with me when I needed you the
most?” Evan questioned God.
And
God
replied,
“I was carrying
you.”
