“ A lot of nothings disguised as people will try to find you and make you like them; but do not shrink, do not become small for something so small just because it is easy. You have a responsibility to remain hungry, vast and rippling, alarming and strange. Do not abandon all the grandness you'll become in exchange for toxic company. —Rupi Kaur ”
Then, finally, happens the act. Circuitously we had approached, with the sniffing and the nipping, before, finally, the devouring. Sharks circle. Hyenas harass. Pigeons and peacocks peck. People pace, pause, pose, and pounce.

When my mother says I deserve better I snap to your defense out of habit. “He still loves me” I shout; she looks at me with defeated eyes, the way a parent looks at a child when they know this is the type of pain even they can't fix and says “It means nothing to me if he loves you if he can't do a single wretched thing about it”.

When you have to interrupt your family's thanksgiving so you can be taken to the ER. Then the hospital's pain meds don't work and the pain is making you exhausted but also preventing you from sleeping. And then you're crying from both pain and tiredness.

YOU SAID IF IT IS meant to be fate will bring us back together. For a second I wondered if you were really that naive. If you really believed fate worked like that. As if it lived in the sky staring down at us, as if it was not already within us, as if fate was not the choices we make, as if it had five fingers and it spent its time placing us like pieces of chess. Who taught you that, tell me, go on. Who convinced you you'd been given a heart and a mind but it wasn't yours to use, that your actions did not define what would become of you? I wanted to scream, shout. ‘It's us you fool. We're the only ones that can bring us back together.’ But instead I sat there quietly, smiling softly through quivering lips thinking isn't it such a tragic thing when you can see it so clearly but the other person doesn't.

He tries to forget, but his heart refuses..He tries to keep up, but his mind scolds..He is stuck between this war of heart and mind..His heart is emotional. But mind is rational..His heart types these three words in the chat box "I Miss You" but his mind erase it before he click send..His heart want to leave everything and embrace her, but this time his mind wins as always..He is in a great dilemma what should be done.. Is it too soon to give up or had he too late to decide..He doesn't know, doesn't want to understand..He hopes that one day, she might text him.. But he knows that she won't!!!
