Chapter 1
A thin, fairly beautiful 17 year old girl stumbled on the grass in her high heel shoes. She was dressed in a black dress with her long, wavy, strawberry blonde hair just falling out of its bun. Her cheeks were stained by the running mascara. Her eyes red from the crying but somehow she managed to collect herself for now. She approached a lake. A gorgeous site to see what with it being surrounded by the fall colored leaves that had had yet finished turning, the green grass, and the shining sun, all the memories. Their memories. This was their special place. She sat down criss-crossed against an oak tree facing the lake. She held the envelope in her hands and stared at the handwriting on it. His handwriting.
~Flashback~
"Rose?" Asked Zayne as he approached her. She was standing over the grave where he was just buried with a rose in her hands. Silent tears escaped her eyes. His family was leaving now. She and Zayne were the only ones left at the site now. She bent over slowly and placed the rose on the tombstone, kissed her hand and put it on it as well. She then straightened up back to her original position.
"Rose..." Repeated Zayne in a comforting tone when he placed a hand on Rose's shoulder. Silenced followed for a few minuets when Rose broke it by sniffling. He pulled something from inside his suit jacket. It was an envelope with her name on it. He looked at it and sighed, extending it out for her to take.
"This is for you."
"What is it?" Rose stared at the envelope.
Zayne shook his head and explained, "All i know is he gave it to me a few days before..." He trailed off not only because he couldnt face the words, but noticed the tears starting to fall from her eyes. "Umm...he really wanted me to give this to you. He made me swear to wait until..... this moment. He said it was important and that it explains everything."
She shook her head in frustration. She felt angry, lost, betrayed, and empty. How could he keep this from her? Her, of all people. And then he expects that a sheet of paper will make it all better?! He was sadly mistaken according to Rose. "Thanks." Said Rose, taking the envelope.
"Oh, Rose." Zayne pulled her into a tight hug. She hugged him back and he asked, "Do you need a ride home?" They pulled away and she wiped her tears away and answered, "No thanks, Zayne. I'm not going home."
"Doesnt matter, just tell me where it is you want to go and...." He was cut off by Rose. "I'll walk, it helpd me clear my mind."
He accepted her decline and met up with Macey, his girlfriend, waiting in his car.
