Have you ever…
Have you ever had that moment when you saw somebody like you had never seen them before? Yep. Yep I have.
Every time I am with Sam I see him as the boy I love.
When I was standing by the band room, waiting for him. Heart racing. When he finally made it through the crowd I saw him as truthful. He had promised he would meet me there. He did.
As we walked together into the exit room thing, by the auditorium, and through the doors, into the auditorium hall way, and up the little ramp, to that area that looks right at the busses and the choir room and everybody. I saw him as caring.
As we waited till nobody was around, or watching, I saw him as patient.
As he leaned in to kiss me, I saw him as passionate.
But when we were at open gym, and I knew my hair was messed up, but still I asked if it looked ok. You said yes. And then I saw him as unguarded. He doesn't care if people disagree with him, he will tell you what he things, if its good or bad. He is not afraid that people will judge him, for he is a strong guy. With the past of no other, and the smile of a saint. My heart fills with joy, for the pure sight of his face.
As he stood next to me, his face filled with aloof. When I asked what was wrong, he just smiled, and said “I just wish I could stay.” My heart broke a little more, knowing he would be leaving soon, but I had to smile, because he was there with me.
When we don’t know somebody, we tend to make assumptions. Sometimes, it’s all-right. But how can we judge one, if we do not know them. When you met him, you would think he was such a goofball. That is correct. But if you do not know him, you would not see the pain he hides everyday.
I don’t want to make him sound pathetic, and weak. But it appears to me, that he puts off his own happiness, to make others happy. When the girls fall for him, it is because of looks. They will never know the story of his life. For he does not enjoy sharing it. But then again, he may trust you. He may tell you. Some will run, for they do not believe him. Others will get tears in there eyes because they don’t see how it is possible.
But He is strong. He knows to carry on. He is true to his word, and always will be. And one day, if he joins the Army, he will make one great soldier, who is stronger then the rest. From his heart out. He will learn how to protect him self, and to protect others. The day he gets married, to who ever that may be. I hope she realizes how lucky she truly is. In my mind, I can see him, standing, in a uniform. It makes me cry to think about what he will go through. But if being in the army, will make him happy. Then I am telling him to go for it. I hope that in 5 years, I can say, “The first boy I loved, is not enrolled in the Army, better yet, he is here with me.”
Some times you see things like never before.
