If I Could Turn Back Time
If I could turn back time,
I’d turn it back to where the day was –
The day where I met you,
Met you some time ago,
Ago where I knew me,
Knew how to act and feel,
How to learn from my mistakes,
My mistakes led me no where,
Where nothing wasn’t right,
And right wasn’t okay
If I could turn back time,
I’d turn it back to when I smiled –
Smiled constantly and laughed,
Laughed at my small falls,
Falls led to help,
Where help led to you
If I could turn back time,
I’d turn it back to when I changed –
Changed my act, style and care,
Cared nothing about just me,
Nothing was blooming,
Blooming didn’t bring smiles,
Smiles didn’t make me laugh,
And laugh just made me sad,
Sad to think that we did laugh,
Sad to know we did laugh,
And sad to know we were okay
If I could just turn back time. . .
But then I would not want to turn back time if I could,
And I would not cry about my memories,
And I would not die inside with blankness,
And I would not know that yes, Virginia ..
Not only is there a Santa Clause
There is a hope.
If I could turn back time. . .
