Chapter 4
Des’ POV:
As soon as we walk into the Dining Hall, I hear someone yell, “Hey Drew! Over here bro!” and a girlish giggle.
Drew turns around and shakes his head laughing, “Can’t even let me get in the door!? Give me a sec.”
“Who’s that?” I ask curiously.
“Oh, him he’s my brother separated at birth. Nah, I’m just kidding. I wish. He’s the famous Tyler.” He put air quotes around famous.
“And the girl?”
“His loyal sidekick of a girlfriend, Abigail. They are inseparable. I bet they’ll get married!” He said laughing at the thought. I want to be his sidekick, I thought to myself. I’m falling, great, better be ready to be broken. No one to catch me.
“Des watch out!” I hear Drew scream. I look around confused, but it’s too late. Guess who can’t read a wet floor sign? So, here I am falling to the ground, looking like an idiot in front of everyone. Then, I feel reassuring hands. Drew caught me, maybe I am reading to fall, since he already caught me.
“Opps, sorry about that...” I say looking down at my feet.
When he places his had on my cheek, my stomach feel like a million rhinos are stampeding, “No problem. I’ll always be here to catch you.” I’m pretty sure we both forgot we were in a room full of people, because he starting leaning in, but all the sudden,
“Boys and girls settle down!” Comes through the loud speakers. I look up and blush as we move away from each other slightly.
“Please take your seats, 5 minutes until morning announcements.” The voice says again. Drew takes my hand and leads me over to Tyler and Abigail.
They both look at Drew, then me, then our intertwining hands.
“So I’m Tyler...” Tyler says giving me a weird look. Then turning his attention to Drew and my hands intertwined, then Drew, giving him a questionable look.
“And I’m Abigail, but please call me Abby or Abs.” Abby says smiling, tossing her long beach wave blonde hair over her shoulder.
“I’m Destiny, call my Des or Desy.”
Drew’s POV:
She’s fitting in. Good I think Abs likes her. Hopefully they’ll become close. Ty gave me ‘the’ look and I nodded back, which meant we needed to talk. It’ll let the girls bond I guess.
“Hey ladies, if you don’t excuse us. We are going to go sign up for our activities.”
“Okay” They say simultaneously then giggling after.
