Chapter 13, Part 1
We arrived at Josh’ house, I grabbed my suitcase and pulled it into Josh’ house, his mom rushed to me.
“TEE!” she said screaming, she hugged me and got Josh’ dad to carry my suitcase to the spare room.
“You don’t mind me staying do you?” I asked, she looked at me and hugged me.
“Of course not, Tee!” she said, I sat down on her sofa, and she smiled and walked off. Josh walked through and sat next to me; he put his hand around me and smiled, she came back in the lounge.
“Treat this house like it’s your home” his mom said, I smiled and sat there awkwardly, how would I treat this as my home? I’d feel awkward on helping myself with the food.
“Do you want rent?” I asked in a soft tone, I wished the answer was yes, I felt guilty for not paying towards anything, “At least let me put some money towards something...”
“No, Tia!” his mom said, I grabbed $40 out of my purse and put my arm out to give it to his mom; she refused to and shoved my hand back.
“Please” I said looking at her, she walked off; I sighed and sat back down.
Josh took me up to the spare bedroom and helped me unpack; I put a photo of the family on the bedside cabinet. Suddenly my phone rang, I picked it up, it was Lily.
Lily: TEEE!
Me: Hey...
Lily: We heard you’ve come back to San Diego for the month, wanna meet up soon?
Me: Sureeee thing! I’m going to be coming back to school soon! I hope mom lets me stay here foreverrrr with Josh!
Lily: haha if you two ever split up and you have to move out, live with me.
I heard her laugh on the other side of the phone, I let out a giggle and I was walking round the room like a stupid person.
Lily: hey, I gotta go now, mom wants me to go grocery shopping, text me!
Me: Suree thing.
She hung up, I threw my phone on the bed and put my clothes in the closest, Josh grabbed me by the waist and threw me onto the bed, he got on top of me and kissed me on the lips, I opened my eyes and saw his smile.
“Get off” I said in a playful way, he looked at me and laughed and jumped off. He grabbed my bikini and threw it at me; I looked at it and looked at him.
“Put it on, we’re swimming” he said laughing, I walked to the bathroom and got changed and ran downstairs to the pool, I jumped into the cool water, I smiled and Josh grabbed me by the waist and pulled me in. I looked into his eyes, we kissed. Suddenly he picked me up and put me on his shoulders, I held onto his head but suddenly he went back and I landed in the water.
