Now that I think about it, I really hated high school. I mean, think about it. You sit there for seven hours a day learning information that you may or may not take an interest in. I know, IT SUCKS. You're around a bunch of people you've grown up with your whole life, whether you like it or not. I had some friends, not the nicest but also a few true. My senior year of high school, I said forget it I don't want anything to do with any of my friends and went off to college alone. It was the best and somewhat the worst decision I've ever made. I knew no one at my school, and made some friends and a handful turned their back on me. Also, I was planning on going to school to be a special education teacher. In the time that no one liked me at college, I had never been so focused on my education and what I wanted to do for my entire life. I started to become curious and learn more and wanted to obtain knowledge. Sure I was actually very alone, but I gained a sense of self. When I came home, I had never been so excited to see the good friends that had actually been there for me. I'm in my sophomore year of college now. I was getting so ready to take all of my education courses then I just had an epiphany. I didn't wanna be a special education teacher anymore. I panicked and didn't know what to do so I just enrolled in a Communications Disorders class and I've never felt so relieved. This was what I wanted to do. Another factor of this year, I went in blind and opened up more. I'm ACTUALLY happy being around people. What I'm trying to get at, is the lowest points in your life will help you discover yourself. Make decisions for YOU. If things are good for you, it'll come back in your life such as my amazing friends at home. It took me a while to figure to everything out and get back up, but I did. It just happened. Life will set ideas right in your lap, so go explore them. I realize this is a really long tangent but things DO get better. As cliche as it is, if you set your mind to something, you can do it.
