I agree, but I still think we should at least TRY to teach boys, from a somewhat young age, why it's wrong. Though then again, we had DARE etc. in elementary school and yet we still have teens that do drugs... but it's still worth a shot. The thing is, guys that do this - yes they're sick in the head but a large part of it's that they feel somehow ENTITLED and somehow justify like what they're doing is okay... it's certainly not. So yeah there will always be r/pists and there will always be psychos that'll do this but maybe we can somehow stop some of them from developing this way.

Consider that some r/pists are, for example, drunk college guys at parties that take advantage of drunk girls around them who aren't fully aware of what's going on. Yes, we should totally teach these girls not to drink/get drunk and make sure they realize that drinking can render them powerless and lead to them being taken advantage of. But we should also try to teach the guys that if they see a girl who is intoxicated, or potentially so (sometimes it isn't clear that she is, but like, if he knows she's been drinking a decent amount she could probably be), they should try to help her - get her to safety, lay her down on a couch, get her water (for dehydration) or whatever... and that drunken consent should NOT be taken as "true" consent. A lot of guys will use the excuse "well she was drunk so it was okay" but no, it's not okay. If she was drunk and about to go drive a car would you stop her or would you let her do it because she "wants" to drive the car?

Duh.

If only it were that simple though... but we have to at least try to convince at least some of them... if anything, call it "chivalry" or whatever, if that's what'll encourage them - but the point is - help the girl, don't help yourself to her :)

You're completely right and there are some situations where people should be more informed about the boundaries of r/ape and sexual assault but then there's sh/t like this http://canyourelate.org/2011/05/24/ra.pe-prevention-tips/ (unfortunately that link won't work because I had to censor word ra/pe) that makes the assumption that people who drug drinks or break into houses are going to listen when you tell them not to and that just shouting "ra/pist no ra/ping" is going to save someone who's already gotten into a dangerous situation.
