He Stopped Me
Chapter 2
"Wassup my homie dog," I hear coming from the window of my bedroom. I really should just keep it unlocked. "Liam, I have this thing called a door, and you do have a key, ya know." "But C, it's so much more fun climbing in!" said Liam. "Ya wanna come over to my crib? PSH, I know you want to, babe." And with that, he winked at me and tried to give me an epicly failed duck-faced kiss. "Don't call me babe!" I laughed and pushed him away. He smiled mockingly. I said, "And why do you even try to sound cool! You're such a goody two shoes, why do you act like this around me?" "Because I can," he said, more serious now. Maybe he was just pretending, though. "Or I thought I could." "Of course you can, you stupid block of wood! What would ever make you think you couldn't!" I exclaimed, and before I knew it, Liam and I were wrestling on the floor like we did when we were kids. Somehow, I ended up laying on the ground with him towering over me on all fours. We were smiling, like we used to. Like we always do.
I snapped back to reality. "Ya know, I got a date for Friday night," I said, cautiously. Liam stood up and helped me up, and we sat on my bed. "With Michael?" He asked. I looked at him puzzled. I had never told him that I liked Michael. That was the only thing I kept away from him. "You can't hide your secrets forever, Clare. 8th grade, I think it was, when I figured it out," he said, sort of, out of it. He seemed.. Sad. "You know me so well. Are you okay with it? I mean..." I wasn't sure what to say. "I don't know. But I want your opinion. Should I go?"
"Oh, totally! I'm happy for you, C," he said. He gave me a big hug. I got this feeling, this.. Tingly feeling. I wanted to stay in his arms forever. And I did, it seems. I woke up to see him with one of his arms around my body, the other one stroking my hair. We must have fallen asleep... Well... I must have fallen asleep. Maybe.. Maybe I should cancel my movie date.
