My Not So Perfect Life- Chapter 43 (part two)
~Six Weeks Later~
"Are you excited for your baby sister to finally come home?" I asked Avery as we got into the car, going to pick up the baby from the hospital.
"I'm so excited she's coming home!" She said excitedly, squirming in her car seat.
"Well then let's go!" Alex said from the driver's seat.
"And off we go!" Alex said, pulling out of the driveway as Elena pulled in. We gave her the house to set the party up in, because she had planned a "welcome home party" for the baby. Everyone was invited, my parents, Alex's parents, and all the cousins and aunts and uncles. It was going to be a lot of us, and it had been a long time since we had all been together like that.
"Hi, I'm Mia Walsh, I'm here to discharge my daughter? I talked to the doctor this morning." I said, 25 minutes later when we arrived at the hospital.
"Oh yes, Mrs. Walsh, right this way. Your daughter has been in the nursery with all the other babies this morning." The four of us followed the nurse down several hallways, until we reached the nursery.
"Would it be alright if the children stay in the hallway? Young children aren't allowed in the nursery for safety reasons. They tend to spread germs faster than anyone else."
"Do you want to go in?" I asked Alex, "I'll stay out here with these two."
"No, no. You go in, I will stay out with them."
"Here she is!" The nurse said, leading me to a crib in the corner.
"Oh, hi sweetie!" I said, picking her up carefully. She was still so tiny! I walked out of the nursery and faced Avery and Logan. "Do you want to meet your new sister?" I asked, a big grin on my face. They hadn't been able to see her in person, since she was so sick and young children spread germs faster than everyone else.
"She's so little!" Avery whispered, coming closer. I kneeled down to her height. "And she's so cute!" She leaned down and kissed her forehead, it brought tears to my eyes. To think Avery hasn't known her 2 minutes and already loved her as much as I did.
"Logan, do you want to see her?" I asked, noticing he had hung behind.
He cautiously walked up towards me and looked at her very quickly. Before retreating again. "Do you want to see her later?" I asked, trying not to pressure him into anything. He nodded and then walked towards the window into the nursery. Logan acted the same way with Avery when she was born, but I never really knew why.
"Ready to go home?" I asked, and they all nodded. The kids ran ahead, knowing the way through the hospital, and Alex walked next to me with his arm on my back.

"Welcome home Scarlett Marie!" Everyone yelled, when we walked into the door.
"Hi everyone!" I said, and surveyed the crowd. "Bella!" I said surprised, she had moved to Boston a few weeks after Avery was born, and I haven't seen her since. "It's great to see you!" She walked up to me and we hugged. "How are you doing?"
"I'm doing great! Jeremy and I settled down in the city, but when Elena sent me an invite I couldn't resist seeing your new addition! What's her name again?"
"Scarlett Marie Walsh." I replied, "It's so good to see you! How many kids do you have now?"
"I have three, just like you. Olivia, Lydia, and Kayden. They're all around her somewhere!" She waved a hand around, there were so many people it would be difficult to find anyone.
"That's great! I will have to meet them later, but if you will excuse me..." I said, turning to see my mother. "Mom! How are you?"
"I'm good, you would know if you bothered to call." She sniffed and took a drink from the glass she had in her hand.
"You don't call me either Mother, and I'm the one with the three kids. But this isn't about us, it's about Scarlett, have you met your new granddaughter?" I asked, last time I saw her Elena was taking her out of the carrier.
"Yes, I did. She's adorable! I will have to come over next week and see her without all the hustle and bustle."
"I look forward to that," I said. Seeing Emily, I excused my self from my mother and walked towards her.
"Emily! It's so nice to see you!" I said, reaching in for a hug. Even though Emily Walsh tried to tear Alex and I apart in the beginning, we were on good terms now.
"Mia! I just saw Scarlett, she is simply breath taking! And her name, so timeless! I love it!" She said, beaming at me.
"Oh, thank you! Alex and I took great care choosing her name. We only recently found it the other day, just in time to take her home."
"Oh, Mother! Have you seen Scarlett? She is simply adorable!" Elena came over, gushing about the baby.
"Yes, I just met her, she is amazing!"
"Oh, Mia I feel kinda bad for you! You finally got the two of them in school so you had some free time, and then you have another baby!" Elena said, turning towards me.
"Oh, I don't mind. It's actually nice that I get some time with the baby by myself. Especially in the morning, she can nap without the kids running around to wake her up."
"They're going to have to learn to be much quieter!" Emily laughed, before spotting the baby in Nicole's arms and walking towards her. Elena followed, and Alex replaced her.
"This, is amazing." He said, wrapping me in his arms.
"Oh, I know. Elena did such a good job planning."
"I think you're pretty amazing too, Mia." Alex whispered in my ear. "I don't think any other mother could handle the three of them. I love you so much." He said, before he kissed me.
"I love you too, Alex." I said, and stood there in my true love's arms, watching my kids run around the backyard and my new baby being adored by everyone she came in contact with. I was amazed to think how far I've come, how far Alex and I have come, together. I looked up at him and whispered, "I couldn't have done it without you."
