Chapter 2
I stared out the window of my car. "Maddie, stop pouting. It's not that bad." My mom said sternly. Haah. Yeah right. She wasn't the most hated girl, now was she? "We're here!" My dad said, too cheerfully. I carefully stepped out of our car, pulling down on my black dress. I hated it.
"Adam! Come on!" I heard a little girl yell across the parking lot. "Jeez Sam, you have NO patience." A little girl, obviously Sam, stood on one side of a mini-van. Infront of her was a tall, brown haired guy my age. Woah. He was hot. My heart fluttered. They started heading over towards our car and I quickly turned around. So this is what Church was going to be like?
"In God's name we pray, amen. Now, I hope you will leave this place of worship knowing that God is beside you, as he always has been, and always will be." I glanced two rows infront of us. Adam sat with Sam and their parents. I hadn't payed that much attention to the sermon. "Maddie!" My dad nudged me hard. "Oh, yeah sorry dad." I grabbed my coat and headed towards the door. "Where do you think you're going?" My mom chuckled. "You still have Youth. Come here." Oh. No. I totally forgot about that.
I sat on a long, red couch near the back corner of the Youth room waiting for Youth to begin. "Hi. Mind if I sit here?" I looked up and saw Adam smiling down at me. "Um no." "Cool. It's Maddie, right?" I looked down at my hands. "Yeah." "Are you knew here?" I looked up at his curious brown eyes. "Yes. My parents thought it would be a good idea to build a relationship with God." He smiled. "Me too." We talked until Youth started. I learned that he just moved here, to Pennsylvania, a month ago. He just stated going to my school, and he's in a few of my classes. "So I'll see you around?" Adam smiled. "Yeah." I smiled back. My first real in forever. I got his number and headed back to my parents car. Church was awesome.
