    Chapter 14.
“Hey guys!” I smiled, embracing the fact that Collin’s arm was around me.
“Uhm, hi.” Zoe said, still in shock.
I watched Jake, as he stood uncomfortably with his hands in his pockets. I didn’t feel sorry, though. He should’ve just told Zoe that he didn’t want to go out.
“So, what are we going to do?” Collin asked, pulling me closer to him.
“Well, I was thinking mini golf.” Zoe smiled at Collin, clearly jealous of the fact I was with him.
“Sounds fun.” I beamed up at Collin, and then at Zoe, giving her somewhat of a dirty look.
We walked over to the mini golf stand, letting the guys pay for the clubs and the balls. Then, we began the course.
“How do you work this thing?” I giggled, holding the club upside down.
I felt like such an idiot acting like an air head. Clearly I knew how to work a golf club, but I needed an excuse for Collin to get close to me.
“Let me help you.” Collin winked, making sure Jake was watching.
He then wrapped his arms around me, showing me how to swing the club. I giggled, letting him kiss me on the cheek.
“Hey Jake, how do you do this?” Zoe asked Jake, trying to compete with Collin and I.
“It’s just a golf club, you swing it and aim for the ball.” Jake said annoyed.
I did my best to hold back laughing. She was pathetic, Jake didn’t even like her. I suddenly felt a strange stirring in the pit of my stomach. What were we turning into? Zoe and I had best friends since forever, was I really going to risk ruining it on this?
We continued golfing, and I continued to flirt with Collin. I had only meant to make Jake jealous, but it was making Zoe mad too, which was all the better.
“Let’s go babe.” Collin called from up ahead, walking towards the pizza parlor with Zoe.
“What’s this all about?” Jake grabbed my arm, pulling me back towards him.
“What are you talking about?” I asked sarcastically.
“Why are you out with Colin?” He questioned in a more serious tone.
“Why are you out with Zoe?!” I spat.
He buried his face into his hands, shaking his head.
“Is that what this is all about?”
“Uhm, yeah. It is.” I said snottily.
“So you’re jealous, I see.” Jake winked at me.
    “What?! A-am not!” I lied.
“Oh, so you wouldn’t be jealous if I did this to Zoe?” Jake asked, wrapping his hands around my waist, pulling me close.
“No.” I muttered, feeling his warm breath brushing against my cheek.
“What about this?” Jake asked, kissing me on the cheek.
“N-no.” I stuttered, staring at him.
“Well, what about this Jake asked?” Softly kissing my lips, and pulling away.
“Okay.” I admitted, touching my lips.
    "Maybe a little."

    Chapter 13.
““You like nice sweetie.” My mom complimented my strapless black dress.
“Thanks.” I said, adjusting my crutches. “I have a date tonight.”
“Excuse me, I thought we agreed on dinner tonight?” My mom crossed her arms, waiting for an explanation.
“Sh//t.” I mumbled under my breath. “Mom, I’m sorry, I totally forgot. But this is really important. Like, you have no idea.”
“Something is always more important than your family, isn’t it?” She asked, tears brewing in her eyes.
“Mom, come on. It’s just one night, don’t get all emotional.” I rolled my eyes.
“Fine, have a nice time with your friends.” She answered sternly, proceeding to her bedroom.
“Whatever.” I scoffed, limping out to the driveway where Collin was waiting for me in his mustang. I couldn’t wait until I was 16, and could drive wherever I wanted.
“You look nice.” He smiled as I made myself comfortable in the front seat.
“Yeah.” I laughed sarcastically. “The crutches really complete the outfit right?”
Collin laughed. “So, who are we double dating with?”
“Well, uhm.” I laughed unsurely. “Zoe and-“
“Zoe?!” He shot me an almost angry expression.
I gave him an innocent smile, hoping he wouldn’t be mad. After all, Zoe is his ex-girlfriend.
“Oh come on.” I lightly punched his shoulder. “It won’t be that bad.”
“I guess you’re right.” He shrugged his shoulders.
“Oh yeah, one more thing.” I said hesitantly, knowing that the whole Zoe thing was already a lot to take in.
    “What?” He asked nervously.
“You have to make my ex-boyfriend jealous.” I said slowly, trying not to make eye contact. “That’s who Zoe’s date is.”
    “Really?” he asked surprised. “Okay.”
“Seriously? You spaz over a double date with Zoe, but you’re okay with me just telling you that you have to act like my boyfriend?”
    “Yeah.” He winked at me.
I smiled, rolling my eyes at his immaturity.
“So, do I have to like, kiss you and stuff?” He asked hopefully.
“If you’re okay with that.” I giggled.
“I think I’ll manage.” He said happily, as we pulled up to the beach.
    “Okay.” I sighed. “You ready?”
He nodded, helping me out of the car. Collin slipped his arm around me as we walked towards Zoe and Jake, who were standing next to a game on the pier. I had to admit, the look on Zoe’s face was priceless when she saw me with Collin.
That’s right sweetheart, I thought to myself.
    Paybacks's a b//tch.

    Chapter 12.
“So, what were you going to tell me?” Zoe said happily.
“Oh.” I said, remembering Jake and I’s kiss. “It was nothing, really.”
“Are you sure?” Zoe asked suspiciously, raising one eyebrow. “You seemed pretty excited before.”
“Yeah, but it was no big deal, I promise.” I lied right through my teeth, giving her an award winning fake smile.
“But I really should be getting back home now, my mom said dinner would be ready soon.”
“Already? But you just got here?” Zoe whined.
“Sorry.” I shrugged my shoulders. “Mother’s orders.”
“Okay, whatever.” She brushed it off. “I have to call Jake anyways, you know, to see if he wants to go out sometime or something.”
“Have fun.” I gave a sarcastic smile, rushing back down the steps to leave.
P!ssed off didn’t even begin to describe my emotions towards Zoe right now. Jake was mine. I mean, not like ‘we’re dating’ mine, but I had dibs! Zoe dating him was completely against the girl code.
I stormed through the front door of the house, making my ways up stairs.
“Back so soon?” My mother asked, holding a freshly brewed cup of coffee.
“Mhm.” I sneered, slamming the door to my room.
I knew that it was wrong to take it out on people who had nothing to do with it, but I couldn’t help it. I had to let my anger out somehow. I threw my phone against the wall, hoping that maybe it’d break, and I’d have an excuse to never text Zoe again. Suddenly, my phone began to vibrate.
“Speak of the devil.” I scoffed, seeing one new text message from Zoe appear on my screen.
“We’re going out tomorrow night!(: “ The text read.
I rolled my eyes, why would Jake go out with Zoe? Did that kiss mean nothing to him?
“Oh hey, what a coincidence!” I sent back. “An old guy friend and I are going out tomorrow night too.(: Double date?”
“Of course!” Zoe replied. “I’ll text you the detes later.(:”
I gave a devious smile, looking up a number in my phone.
“Hey Collin!” I said sweetly into the phone. “I haven’t talked to you in forever!”
We began making small talk about Maine, and how I was back for good now.
“Yeah, we should totally go out sometime!” I exclaimed. “How about tomorrow? Two of my friends are going out too, so it’ll be a double date.”
    “Sounds great.” He laughed.
“Perfect.” I said, examining my freshly done nails. “See you tomorrow.”
I then hung up, leaving a guilty smile on my face.
Going out to eat with my ex-boyfriend?
    Two can play that game
Okay, so I made a few mistakes last chapter. Josh was supposed to say Jake, (I used to write a story with a Josh in it ) &Dad, was supposed to say step dad. I was really tired when I wrote that..I'm so sorry. I've been getting a lot of hate lately, and I realize my stories arn't that great. I don't need to be reminded. When I'm finished with this story, i'm probably just going to stop writing. Okay, that's all..
“So, do I have to like, kiss you and stuff?” He asked hopefully.
“If you’re okay with that.” I giggled.

    I run and run

    I hug your legs
And fall asleep on the way home
    I'm thirteen now
    And don't know how

I don't know who I'm gonna talk to now at school

    Chapter 9.
“Jake, this isn’t your fault, not at all!” I said surprised. “Jake, y-you saved my life.”
He looked down at me, his eyes glazed over with sorrow.
“No.” He argued. “I should’ve gotten you off before I took care of myself. God, I’m so selfish!”
“Jake, stop being so hard on yourself!” I took his hands, holding them in mine. “What you did was the right thing, stop trying to convince yourself otherwise.”
He sighed, examining my leg that was currently wrapped in gauze.
“The doctor said it’ll be fine in a few days.” I began, knowing his next comment would be about by stitches. “It’s just a little scrape.”
I smiled at him, trying to give him reassurance, but he was still fully convinced that all of this was his fault. He gave a weak smile back, and even though I wasn’t the best with judgment, it was clearly fake.
“Maybe I could make it up to you?” He asked, shoving his hands shyly in his pockets.
It wasn’t like Jake to be shy. Or maybe it was, maybe it was a habit he had picked up in the past 2 years I hadn’t been around.
“I’d like that.” I gave him a sweet smile, while making myself comfortable in the hospital bed.
He smiled back, this time for real.
“We could go get ice cream after this, if that’s alright with you.”
    “That sounds great.” I whispered.
“So, it’s a date?” Jake asked hesitantly.
I felt butterflies quickly enter the pit of my stomach. Even though this was all just meant to be a game of revenge, I couldn’t help but feel excited.
“It’s a date.” I smiled, trying to sound as calm as possible.
“Okay Bree, the doctor says you’re free to go now.” The nurse said, handing me the extra change of clothes Jaycie had brought in for me.
I got changed, avoiding the urge to put pressure on my left leg as much as possible. I knew that navigating on crutches the next few days wouldn’t be simple, but I was sure that I would be able to manage.
“Are you sure you should be going out again already Breanne?” My mother asked concerned, while standing in the doorway of the bathroom. “You just got released a half hour ago.”
“I’ll be careful mom, I promise.” I assured her. “And don’t call me that.”
I ran the straightener through my hair, walking on one leg started to seem a lot easier after I had experienced getting dressed with only one leg. I had on my new floral dress, that held tight around my waist, and fell just above my knees. Even though this was only ice cream, it was still suitable for the occasion.
The doorbell suddenly rang, and my mother called me from downstairs.
“Coming!” I yelled back, taking one last glimpse of myself in the mirror.
Don’t forget what you came back for Bree, I told myself, staring at my reflection. I limped down the steps with my crutches to meet Jake. And although my heart raced with excitement, I made sure that I still had a little sanity left in my head.
    Reminding me that Jake,
    was still the bad guy.

    Chapter 8.
    -Jake's POV-
“Someone page Doctor Rene, stat!” A nurse yelled to a few by standard employee’s."
“Bree, I’m so sorry.” I gripped her hand, squeezing my eyes shut tightly to avoid the tears.
“Can any of you tell me what happened to her?” The nurse asked, observing Bree’s shattered leg.
“S-she was on the jetski.” I muttered. “And we were about to hit a tree, so I pulled her off, and she hit the prop, and, and.”
I broke down, how could I have been so stupid? I could have just pulled her off a little further to the left, and we wouldn’t be in this situation.
“Hey, this isn’t your fault.” The nurse comforted me, patting me softly on the back. “The way I see it, you may have saved her life. Do you know what could’ve happened if she hit that tree?”
    “Well, n-“
“She could’ve died.” The nurse cut me off. “But you saved her. And now, with the proper treatment, she’ll be fine again in no time.”
“Bring her in!” A doctor yelled anxiously.
Bree’s hand released from mine, and a few of the hospital employees cautiously rushed her to the operating room.
I sat down in one of the waiting room chairs, burrying my face into my hands.
    -Bree’s POV-
“Where am I?” I asked tiredly, slowly opening my eyes.
I instantly felt a throbbing pain in my right leg, causing me to scream.
“Bree, calm down. You’re going to be fine. We just finished stitching up your leg, so it’s going to hurt a little.” A nurse explained to me.
As I reached to grasp my leg, but the nurse’s hand quickly restrained me from doing so.
“That’s another thing.” She added. “Don’t touch it, we wouldn’t want the stitches coming open.”
I rolled my eyes, resting my head back on my pillow.
“What exactly happened to me? I mean, how did I get here?” I asked curiously.
The nurse examined her clip board, looking for some type of identification.
“Well.” She started. “It says here that a man named Jake Taylor brought you in. Do you know him?”
I paused for a second, suddenly remembering everything that had gone down. The jet ski, the tree, Jake yelling. I should have listened when he told me to slow down.
    “Y-yes.” I said reluctantly. “I know him.”
“Excuse me, nurse?” A lady poked her head through the door to my room. “Is she ready for visitors?”
The nurse looked at me with wondrous eyes. I nodded my head slightly, letting her know I was ready. The woman then left the room, and shortly after, I was greeted by all of my friends.
Everyone gave me hugs, telling me they were so scared, and glad that I was going to be okay, except Jake. He approached me slowly, with pain filled eyes.
“Bree..” He whispered, hugging me softly.
    "I'm so sorry."

    Chapter 6.
“Wake up Bree; it’s almost 10:30!” My mom shouted up the steps.
I slowly opened my eyes, angry at the fact that my mom was waking me up so early. Normally, I would wake up around 11:30, even noon sometimes, but not today, apparently. I crawled out of bed, picking up my phone that had 1 new message from Jaycie, telling everyone to meet at the beach around 11:30.
Letting out a tired sigh, I walked to my closet, deciding on something completely stunning to wear. Today was step 1 of plan ‘revenge of the ex-boyfriend.’
    Make Jake jealous.
I wasn’t all that fond of the name, but I would think of a catchier one later.
I pulled on my strapless white cover up over my newly bought Gucci rhinestone bikini, which I had been saving up for-for nearly a year. Each strap fell gracefully around all of my tan curves, that I had worked so hard the past 2 years to perfect. I then braided my naturally blonde hair down my back, letting my bangs fall in loose strands around my face.
After that, I applied my makeup. Extra sparkly, of course. What’s a rhinestone bikini without glittery makeup?
Once I had made myself presentable, I slipped on my flip flops, and began making my way towards the beach.
“Are you sure you don’t want something to eat first, hunny?” My mom asked concerned. “You’ve barely eaten anything since you got here.”
“I’m fine mom.” I assured her. “But thanks.”
I quickly headed towards the door, before she began to question my eating habits. I wasn’t anorexic, or bulimic, or any of that. Sure, I didn’t eat very often, but I still ate healthy. You’d be surprised where a few apples and some exercise will get you.
“Where did you get that bikini girl?!” Zoe shrieked, running up to worship my outfit.
“I know a few people.” I examined my nails, pretending it was not big deal.
“You have got to hook me up with one of those.” Jaycie said, scanning what she could see of my suit, that was still mostly hidden behind my cover up.
“We’ll see.” I smirked. “They’re pretty hard to get.”
Sure, I was telling a few little white lies. They were clearly impressing Jake though, so my guilt quickly faded. We all found an empty spot in the sand, and began preparing to go get in the water. I watched Jake’s eyes widen as I pulled of my white laced cover up. Little did I know, he wasn’t the only one watching.
“Damn Barbie, when did you get a super model body?” Ryan gaped in amazement.
I let out a sarcastic laugh, pulling my aviators down over my eyes. Jake’s face grew somewhat angry at Ryan’s comment.
“Well.” I said calmly, starting to walking down towards the water.
“The day Jake decided I wasn't good enough."
Little bit of attitude(: Sorry for the delay guys, i've been kinda sick the past few days :( The next chapter will be exciting:D Also, to anyone being notified via text, I have begun to realize that only a few people have been getting them..stupid texting app..i'll fix itt(: I cannot thank you all enough for the amazing support you have been giving me, and this story. Chapter 5.
We all slowly turned around, revealing our faces to the cops.
I wasn’t really all that scared, until I realized we had guns pointed at us.
“We didn’t do anything wrong!” Jaycie said through tears.
The officer told us we could put our hands down from above our head, and began to question us.
“So, you folks didn’t just come out of that house?” The officer asked, observing us all closely.
“Of course not!” Zoe exclaimed quickly. “We’re just walking back from that park over there.”
The officer looked, seeing the Glendale middle school park.
“We decided it would be best to go home after we heard the police sirens.” Ryan contributed to the lie.
“Oh.” The officer said surprised, while jotting a few things down on his open notebook.
I felt myself begin to shake.
Not only because it was getting cold out, but because no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t lie.
“Are you okay ma’am?” The officer question me, with a suspicious look on his face.
“She’s just a little cold sir.” Jake explained, wrapping his arms around me to keep me warm.
His touch sent more chills up my already frozen spine.
“Okay, well, you kids be safe tonight. You’re free to go.”
I had to stop myself from letting out a heavy sigh of relief.
We all turned, staying quiet for at least ¼ of a mile on the walk home.
“That was way too close guys.” Noah broke the rigid silence.
“Are you kidding me?!” Jaycie shrieked. “That was f//king awesome!”
We all glared at her, annoyed with her lack of attitude to be serious.
“Okay, sorry fun killers.” She rolled her eyes.
“What’s up for tomorrow?” I asked, trying to change the subject.
“How does the beach sound to everyone?” Jaycie suggested.
    We all gave approving nods.
“I’ll text you all the time.” Jaycie said, realizing her house was only a short distance in front of us.
Soon, it was only Jake and I left.
“That was pretty freaky.” Jake said, trying to start a conversation.
“yeah.” I laughed a little, noticing my house was straight ahead.
He walked me up to my doorstep, knowing how scared the situation had made me.
“Bye Bree.” Jake smiled slightly as I walked through the door.
I gave him a warm smile, softly whispering back.

We sleep 8 hours a day, in a year, that counts up to 122 days so now we're left with 141 days. If we fooled around for only 1 hour a day, 15 days are gone, so we are left with 126 days. We spend 2 hours eating each day, 30 days are used in this way in the year, and we are left with 96 days in our year. We spend 1 hour a day speaking to friends and family, that takes away 15 days more and we are left with 81 days. Exams and tests take up at least 35 days in your year, hence you are only left with 46 days. Taking off approximately 40 days of holidays, you are only left with 6 days. Say you are sick for a minimum of 3 days, you're left with 3 days in the year to study! Let's say you only go out for 2 days... You're left with 1 day! But that 1 day is your birthday!
