The 3 top sections of the profile now have ids that can be targeted with CSS: profile_avatar_container, profile_basics_container, profile_links_container reply

Don't do what I advised. I changed the markup and then changed it back. The links on the right were in a .span4. I changed it to a .span3 because someone complained about something jumping down the the next row. I changed it back to a span4 because I think a lot of profile layouts rely on the span4 and not the span3. I should give these things unique div ids so that can be targeted with CSS more precisely. reply

In the source of your profile layout, code change the 17px in this line to something smaller (like 11px):
body{font-family:trebuchet ms; letter-spacing:-1px; font-size:8pt; line-height:17px; color:#000;}
