    Chapter two: The Plan
    In room 24 Selena’s loved ones had gathered around her hospital bed. The nurse was checking up on her. Her heart is beating, but she is still unconscious.
    Selena’s grandmother whispered to her: “Are you crazy?” “It isn’t your time!” “You have your whole life ahead of you.” “Go home Selena and I will be waiting for you when the time is right.” “I love you!”
    The silence in the hospital room had been broken by Braylyn’s gasp. “Selena!” “You’re okay!” “Guys she
    is waking up!”
    Selena was lying on the bed blinking the water out of her eyes. She tried sitting up, but the wires attached to her body didn’t let her. Sel didn’t remember anything after saying goodbye to Daniel.
    “Thanks for saving my life.” Selena said.
    “Hahaha try not to scare us like that ever again Sel.” Jasmine said.
    “I thought I was going to lose my sister!” Braylyn said.
    The boys walked in with balloons and flowers. When they realized she had woken up they all ran to her bedside.
    The doctor said Selena had to take it easy for a few days. Her head injury is all stitched up and other then a few bruises and scrapes she was okay. She was free to go home as soon as she felt good enough to walk around without supervision. Luckily she had such good friends for they didn’t leave her side without assuring she could walk on her own and not pass out again. She was put on iron pills and was told to always have money for a soda in her pocket incase her blood pressure dropped again. As for her vertigo there was nothing much to do except put her on some medication and to rest for a week or so.
    Jasmine’s alarm went off the following Monday morning. She got up and got ready for school. She put on some blue jeans and a brown spaghetti strap with a blue cardigan from Hollister. She slipped on her brown boots and threw on her silver medal and took off for school.
    The bell rang for first period and Jasmine was running a little late. She was on her way striding down the c building when a random kid walked up to her and gave her a card. It read >>Better watch out<< Jazz instantly texted the girls who had apparently also gotten the same card.
    The girls all met up at snack and talked about the mysterious letter. They all had no enemies at Downey so they pondered who it could be.
    They where walking down the halls when they noticed an innocent looking girl named Victoria was sitting on the floor crying. Braylyn asked what was wrong but then Victoria looked up and noticed who it was she became silent. Victoria stood up and wiped her tears.
    “Nothing. Mind your own business.” She said right before she walked away. She got her phone out of her pocket and started dialing a number. >> I can’t do this anymore<< she said. >> You’re my best friend Victoria! Do it for me! << yelled the anonymous caller.
    Victoria took a deep breath and hung up. She wrote on four pieces of paper and gave them to random people with specific instructions.
    Lunch came around and the group met up at the usual place. They had all gotten another note. It said >> I will take back what is rightfully mine<< The guys walked up and realized the strange looks on the beautiful faces that once held precious smiles.
    The dismissal bell rang and the girl hugged and kissed the boys goodbye. The girls walked to the library so they could be picked up. Selena was lost in her train of thought. She wondered who was giving out the random letters, but most importantly who was scaring and threatening herself and her best friends.
    Selena lost her train of thought when ‘Grenade’ by Bruno Mars came out on the radio. The entire clique of girls started singing loud and clear with the volume put on maximum. When the song ended they all laughed and smiled and the threats forgotten.
    After lunch at Selena’s house Braylyn and Julie headed home. Jasmine; however, had to take a different route. She busted out her new I pod and started to sing alone to Taylor Swift when she bumped into Victoria.
    “Oh hey you’re that one girl who was crying. Right?”
    “I said mind your own business!” she said pushing Jasmine.
    Luckily Jasmine was a lover not a fighter. She ignored Victoria’s attempt to start a fight and walked away. “I’m sorry.” Victoria said to herself. “You guys didn’t do anything to me.” “Why do I let myself get bossed around like this?” Victoria walked on and met up with her friends.
    “So you know the plan?”
    “Why do I have to do this?”
    “Because I said so! Either you do this or I ruin your life forever!”
    “Okay! Okay. I‘ll do it, I know the plan!”
    “Good girl.” Said the blackmailer,” Remember you have to do it by this coming Saturday. I am taking back my title.
    Victoria walked away and thought to herself >> Why me? I hate this! << Suddenly an idea popped into her head. >> I can say I messed up on the plan and it just didn’t work out. No, that wouldn’t work. I know she would find out eventually. <<
    “I’m sorry Jasmine” Victoria said right before knocking out on her cozy bed.

    Chapter one: Is this goodbye?
    As morning broke on May 29th Selena awoke to her family singing happy birthday. She was turning fifteen, but that wasn’t the best part of the day. There was a track meet and Selena was known to have the best chance on winning the hurdles event. She got up and ate breakfast. After eating Sel got into the car and drove to Braylyn’s house. Bray was Selena’s best friend and since her mom had some errands to run Bray was giving her ride to the meet.
    At the meet Braylyn and Selena ran u to Jasmine and Julie. They were all best friends. They considered themselves unbiological sisters. They have known each other since they were divas in diapers! Another thing about them, they were all well known around the school.
    The gun was shot and Selena, Braylyn, and Jasmine took off on the track. You can hear the excitement in the announcer’s voice.
    “Selena is in first! But wait, what’s this? Braylyn and Jasmine are right on her tail!”
    The race was over and the crowd cheered. The ribbon was around the winners waste. The top three finishers headed for the podium. Braylyn stood proudly on the third place stand. She received the bronze metal and everyone cheered. The silver belonged to Jasmine. She lost by half a second. Selena stood nice and tall on top of the gold medal podium. She called her friends up to stand proudly by her side. They posed for pictures and congratulated each other.
    Later that day the girls were at the mall celebrating. They all qualified for sectionals. Julie was proud of her silver on the 400m dash. The girls walked into a clothing store laughing at a joke that had just been told. They were checking out some blouses when Selena felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around to see Priscilla Mercia with her crew from Warren. Vince stood at her side with Caesar and Adrianna behind them. Priscilla was a drama queen and hated loosing. She was at the track meet and got fourth in hurdles. She ripped the golden medal off of Sel’s neck and backed away only to run into Drake, Jeremy, and Daniel, the girl’s boyfriends. Drake got his soda and dumped it onto her head. Jeremy retrieved the medal and tossed it to Selena. Priscilla ran out crying. Caesar and Adrianna followed while Vince stood behind. Vince was about to say something when Daniel punched Vince and told him to stay away from the girls. The girls laughed and thanked the boys for their perfect timing.
    Drake got his flirt on and embraced Julie in his arms. He gave her a quick kiss and then laughed.
    Jeremy congratulated Braylyn and kissed her passionately. Braylyn blushed and whispered not in front of my friends.
    Daniel kissed Selena’s cheek and smiled. Selena laughed and pulled him back for a kiss on the lips.
    The girls shopped ‘til they dropped! Literally, the boys had to catch them even with all the bags in their hands.
    Jasmine’s mom picked everyone up and drove them home, for a sleep over had been planned. Earlier that day Selena hadn’t been feeling too good. She said she needed to go out for some fresh air. She had gone alone for everyone else was indulged in their plate of cinnamon toast crunch.
    Selena went to a nearby park. She sat on the swings and stared at the stars. All of a sudden someone’s hands were on her waist. She jumped up and was about to run until she realized it was Daniel. Danny said he followed her to say goodnight. He kissed her goodbye and walked away.
    Selena looked at her cell and realized it was almost midnight. She started walking back to jasmine’s house when she felt really dizzy. The next thing you knew Selena’s head hit the hit the cold hard concrete. Blood oozed out of her head as Sel. Fell deeper and deeper into unconsciousness. The last thing Selena saw was a bright light and a golden gate with her grandma at the entrance.
    Her grandmother had been dead for about three years now.
    Back at the house the girls were getting concerned. They have called and texted Sel. a countless amount of times. No answer. They also called Daniel to ask if Selena was with him. When he denied it they all ran to the park and searched for Selena.
    Selena was passed out on the sidewalk when everyone gathered around her. They called the hospital and an ambulance came shortly after. Sel’s friends cried helplessly as they started at her limp lifeless body. They all wondered if this would be goodbye. Forever.
    Tears fell from the eyes of Selena’s best friends. They couldn’t believe what was happening. They notified Selena’s parents and rushed to the hospital.
    They prayed that she would be o.k. they wanted nothing but to see her smile once more. The same question kept running around everyone’s head.
