Summer of Dreams
Chapter 5
"Mags!" I heard my brother Brandon call my name. How long had I been asleep? I stumbled out of my bed and my IPod fell to the floor. As I bent to pick it up, I heard my brother's name again. "Get down here!" I rolled my eyes and stomped down the stairs.
"What's so important?" I grumbled, rubbing my eyes.
"Mom and Dad left to go run errands, and left us to make dinner."
A half an hour later, Brandon and I were sitting in front of the TV, with paper plates with pizza on them watching Family Guy reruns.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang, peircing right through the sound of the TV.
"I'll get it," I said, wondering who it could be.
When I pulled open the door, I saw Trevor standing there. He was wearing ripped jeans, a grey sweatshirt and black Vans.
"What are you doing here?" I asked. "And more importantly, how did you get my adress?"
"Relax," he said, chuckling. "You left your camera case in the woods with your adress in it. I decided to be courteous and return it. I wouldn't stalk you." I stuck out my hand and he slipped me the camera case.
"Thanks," I said. I heard my brother's voice from the other room.
"Mags! Who is it?" I didn't bother replying. Out of the blue, I asked, "Trevor, what school are you going to in September?" He blinked a couple times and replied, "Bolton High." Creative name, I thought to myself.
"Oh..." I said. "Just curious." He grinned. He had an amazing grin. But at that time, I didn't know this one smile would mean so much to me.
"What about you?"
"I don't know yet. Probably there." Just then, my brother came to the door.
"Who is this?" He asked, adding emphasis on the 'this.' I resisted the urge to roll my eyes.
"This is Trevor." We all stood there awkwardly for a few seconds, until Brandon said, "Ohhh, ok. I'll leave you two to your buisness," winked at me and left. I sighed.
"That's my brother Brandon."
"Oh...well I better get going," Trevor said.
"What? Oh, yeah. Well, see you soon, I guess?" I said, trying not to sound too hopeful. He nodded, tapped his foot, and shut the door. I watched him walk up the driveway and turn the corner like a stalker, then went back to the living room to finish my dinner.

That night, I was laying in my bed as rain poured down outside. Rain, my favorite kind of weather. It had started raining a few hours before. I wonder if Trevor had to walk home in the rain, I thought to myself. I wonder if he liked the rain, or Paramore or The Script or Coldplay, like me. I wondered a lot of things about Trevor, things that wouldn't matter pretty soon. I wondered if I would ever see him again. I wondered if he liked me.
I immediatly shook that thought out of my head. Trevor didn't matter. He was just another boy...
right?
