    Summer of Dreams
    Chapter 7
I suddenly pulled back from him.
    "Trevor?" I said softly.
    "Yeah?"
    "You're not dating anyone...right?" I asked hesitantly.
"No." He said. "Don't worry." I let out a big woosh of air. We stood in silence for a few minutes, then I finally broke it.
"Trevor...do you wanna...be my boyfriend?" I asked. His face immediatly turned cold.
    "I...I can't."
    "Why not?"
    "I'm not ready for that."
"But...then why did you kiss me?" I said. I was so confused.
"Because...I don't know. But it didn't mean anything, alright? You know that?"
"What?" I screamed. "Why are you doing this?" He sighed.
"I can't date date you sweetheart," he said.
Sweetheart. Mason used to call me that. And that's when I realized it. Trevor was no different from Mason.
"Don't you dare call me that," I said harshly. "You can't just do that to me. Kiss me like it's nothing."
"I can do whatever I want." His calm tone made me want to slap him.
"NO!" I said. "Who the hell do you think you are?" I stood back.
"Oh, just shut the f*ck up!" He finally roared. "You're nothing! I have better options, so just f*ck off!"
"YOU F*CK OFF!" I yelled. "I never want to see your face again!" I ran down the train tracks and all the way home, letting Trevor stand behind me.
It's not like he cared, anyway.

    Summer of Dreams
    Chapter 6
The sound of my phone vibrating an alarm shot me awake, and I fell out of bed. I rubbed my eyes, got up and changed into tight denim shorts and a t-shirt, stuck my phone in my pocket, and left for the train tracks.
This has sort of been a tradition every time I move anywhere. There always had to be train tracks to walk on. There were in New York, Pawtucket, and now they're are here, too.
When I reached the tracks, sun was streaming through the carpet of trees onto them. It was currenty 5:30 in the morning, so nobody should have been there. Of course, it didn't work out that way.
As I walked, all I could think about was Trevor. Why did I care so much about him? He was jut a boy. Not even that cute. Or charming. Chances are, I would never see him again. Not that I cared about seeing him again. Right?
If it was by pure coincedince, or just fate, but right when I was wondering where Trevor was, I walked smack dab into him.
"Ow!" I cried out, falling and hitting my arm on a large rock. I blinked a couple times, and stared up in front of me.
"Trevor?!" I said in pure disbelief.
"Maggie?" He replied, just as suprised as I was.
"That's it," I said, pulling myself up off the ground and brushing off my shirt. "You're stalking me." He laughed.
    "Are you alright?"
    "Yeah, you?"
    "Yeah..." his voice trailed off.
    "What?" I asked curiously.
"Nothing," he said, laughing a little to himself and staring up into the clear blue sky.
"No, tell me," I persisted. He sighed.
"You just look a little like somebody I used to know," he said.
    "Oh..."
    "Yeah. And....never mind."
    "What?"
"Well..." his voice trailed off, then grew stronger. "Oh what the hell. You're beautiful." I stared up into his eyes.
"Do you mean that?" I asked.
"Yes. I love your eyes...they're always shimmering. And your hair isn't ruined by dye and straightner. I'ts naturally curly. And I find that beautiful." We stood in silence for a few minutes, before I said, "Kiss me." I had to stand on my tip toes, but my lips reached his, and we stood like that for a few minutes, just me in his arms.
And then I knew, that I definetly had feelings for Trevor.

    Summer of Dreams
    Chapter 5
"Mags!" I heard my brother Brandon call my name. How long had I been asleep? I stumbled out of my bed and my IPod fell to the floor. As I bent to pick it up, I heard my brother's name again. "Get down here!" I rolled my eyes and stomped down the stairs.
"What's so important?" I grumbled, rubbing my eyes.
"Mom and Dad left to go run errands, and left us to make dinner."
A half an hour later, Brandon and I were sitting in front of the TV, with paper plates with pizza on them watching Family Guy reruns.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang, peircing right through the sound of the TV.
"I'll get it," I said, wondering who it could be.
When I pulled open the door, I saw Trevor standing there. He was wearing ripped jeans, a grey sweatshirt and black Vans.
"What are you doing here?" I asked. "And more importantly, how did you get my adress?"
"Relax," he said, chuckling. "You left your camera case in the woods with your adress in it. I decided to be courteous and return it. I wouldn't stalk you." I stuck out my hand and he slipped me the camera case.
"Thanks," I said. I heard my brother's voice from the other room.
"Mags! Who is it?" I didn't bother replying. Out of the blue, I asked, "Trevor, what school are you going to in September?" He blinked a couple times and replied, "Bolton High." Creative name, I thought to myself.
"Oh..." I said. "Just curious." He grinned. He had an amazing grin. But at that time, I didn't know this one smile would mean so much to me.
    "What about you?"
"I don't know yet. Probably there." Just then, my brother came to the door.
"Who is this?" He asked, adding emphasis on the 'this.' I resisted the urge to roll my eyes.
"This is Trevor." We all stood there awkwardly for a few seconds, until Brandon said, "Ohhh, ok. I'll leave you two to your buisness," winked at me and left. I sighed.
    "That's my brother Brandon."
"Oh...well I better get going," Trevor said.
"What? Oh, yeah. Well, see you soon, I guess?" I said, trying not to sound too hopeful. He nodded, tapped his foot, and shut the door. I watched him walk up the driveway and turn the corner like a stalker, then went back to the living room to finish my dinner.
    ///
That night, I was laying in my bed as rain poured down outside. Rain, my favorite kind of weather. It had started raining a few hours before. I wonder if Trevor had to walk home in the rain, I thought to myself. I wonder if he liked the rain, or Paramore or The Script or Coldplay, like me. I wondered a lot of things about Trevor, things that wouldn't matter pretty soon. I wondered if I would ever see him again. I wondered if he liked me.
I immediatly shook that thought out of my head. Trevor didn't matter. He was just another boy...
    right?

    Summer of Dreams
    Chapter 4
I walked around the woods for about 2 more hours, pondering what Trevor meant. Did he mean after the summer, when we would be in school? I didn't even know what school I was going to. When I finally left for home, my parents made me unpack all my boxes and move my furniture into my attic room. After that, I finally got to relax. I pulled out my IPod, put on Fix You by Coldplay, and layed down in my bed. I gazed up at the white Christmas lights I had strung up on the wall. They made strange but beautiful patterns of light on the cream coloured walls. Sucking in a deep breath, I let one silent tear slip down my face. Great. One day and I was already missing New York. But why? I hated the apartment we lived in, I was bullied at school, I even cut myself once. I hated my life. Bolton could be a new start. And, like I said before, I really needed one. But there were small things I missed. Like the view from the tiny window in my bedroom. It showed one lone streetlamp, and in the glow from the streetlamp, you could see everything and anyone that walked past. It's flouresent color turned the snow orange in the winter, and the rain that was coming down at a sideways angle was no exception. I always loved that view. There was barely any veiw except for the woods in my new room. I sighed and turned over in my bed, trying to rethink the events of 8th grade. Of what happened with my friends. It all started one lunch period. I was sitting with Tracy and Brittany, my two best friends in school. I had been eating a random cookie from Subway, and Brittany had to comment.
"My, my, you're eating that awful fast," she said with one of her devious winks. I rolled my eyes and didn't respond, but got up to throw the cookie out. When I got back, Brittany was giggling about something with Tracy.
    "What's so funny?" I asked.
"Oh, nothing," she said, with a smug smile on her face. "Just that Mason might not approve of your eating habits," she said with a wink. My throat grew tight, and I had to resist the urge to punch her in the nose. Because Mason was my boyfriend. Tracy had stopped laughing by then.
"Shut up, Brit," she muttered to Brittany. But Brittany didn't.
"Yeah, he's been telling me he doesn't appreciate you stuffing your face wherever you guys go," she said, laughing. And you embarass him in front of his friends." By then, I had stormed out of the cafeteria, tears streaming down my face, and spent the rest of the period in the bathroom trying to get a hold on myself. The next day, Mason stumbled over to me, laughed and said 'we're done.' Then he flounced away with his goofy friends. I stomped my foot, and screamed "I hate you!" Then went off in search for Brittany. When I found her, she was in the library sharing a bag of sour patch kids with her boyfriend Greg. I walked up to her and slapped her, then stormed out. The nex day, I was suspended. I didn't care. And that was when my parents decided it was time to move.
    And here I am now.

    Summer of Dreams
    Chapter 3
I immediatly jumped off the branch and whirled around, trying to find the source of the voice. What I saw was a boy, about 14 years old, with sandy blonde hair, dimples and entrancing grey eyes. I stood there in shock for a few seconds, then got my bearings and replied.
"Hi," I said breathlessly. The boy had a bit of a smirk on his face as I replied "My name is Maggie." He grinned and stuck out his hand.
"I'm Trevor." I shook his hand and nodded.
"So...what are you doing here?" I asked.
"Walking. I see you've been taking pictures."
"How do you know that?" I asked defensively.
"You've got a camera with you," he said, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Oh-oh yeah," I stuttered, embarassed. I flipped my jet black hair off my face. I should have put it up or something. And why did I wear this? I bet I look stupid. My face grew red as I realized how stupid I must have looked. But why did I even care? He was just a boy. Younger than me, even. And they were all the same. Suddenly, my attitude towards him grew cold. Why did I care what he thought? We stood there silently for a few seconds, until I finally cleared my throat and said, "Well I gotta go." Trevor nodded.
"I'll see you around," he said, and then, with a wink and a few quick strides, he was gone from the woods. The question was,
when would I see him again?

    Summer of Dreams
    Chapter 2
Sunlight streamed through the large circular window in my new attic bedroom, waking me up. I checked the time on my phone. The numbers 8:38 am blinked. I yawned, stretched, and got out of bed, tripping over some unopen boxes on the way downstairs.
When I reached the kitchen, I saw that my dad was already flipping pancakes in a black frying pan on the stove.
"Good morning sleepyhead," he said in a cheerful tone. I grunted in return, not being much of a morning person. I pulled out a can on Coke from the fridge, slamming it shut which was rather unecesary for the situation, but I did it anyway.
"You want some pancakes?" My dad asked, keeping up his happy tone. I wondered how long he was going to go on with that until he realized I wasn't in the mood for talking. I shook my head, and trudged back upstairs, quickly changed into a pair of ripped jeans, a t-shirt and my purple converse, grabbed my camera, phone, pocket knife, and Coke can and left the house.
When I reached the small woods, I immediatly began climbing up the nearest tree to catch the last glimpse of the sunrise. When I reached the top, I saw the sun rise into the sky and sit there like a giant egg yolk. I snapped one picture and began to climb back down. But when my foot was on the last branch a voice called out
    'hello?'

    So obviously you're not happy.
    But ya know what?
You are the strongest people I know, you cutters.
You bottle up your emotions...why? Because you don't want to bother others?
So you cut yourself because it kinda...relives you? I have to say, you're strong. Strong as f*ck.
So if you've stayed strong for this long, beautifuls, can't you stay strong a little longer?
    For me?
    Because I admire your strength.
