    Chapter 6
I curled the rope around my wrist, grabbed the rock, and tried to wipe the blood off my face, which was only being used for camoflauge. I crept up the stairs, trying to be quiet. I tiptoed through the doorway, and saw a brightly lit hallway, doors in it, which I assumed were bedrooms and bathrooms, and a living room. I heard the T.V. on, and hunched down, sneaking behind a chair next to the couch in the living room. I saw him sitting on the couch eating chips and drinking a beer. How could he sit, so relaxed, after killing several young women? How could he sit there with no guilt? He made me sick. I crept to the left in back of the chair. There was a small space between the couch and chair. Just enough space to throw a rock. I shifted my foot a little, drew my arm back, and hit him right in the head with a hard throw.
He fell over on the couch, and I immediatly shot up and ran over to him, sat on top of him, and twisted the rope around his neck before he could do a thing. He waved his hands over his throat, and I pushed them down.
"You have 10 seconds to tell me who you are, why you do this, and if you have any more victims." I said, holding the two ends of the rope around his throat. His face was turning red, but he still didn't reply. I growled and pulled the rope harder, and we winced.
"One more," he managed to croak out.
"Where? Where are they?" I screamed.
"Down the hall. Third room," he croaked again. I nodded.
"What's the adress of this house?" I yelled. He didn't reply, until I pulled the rope as hard as I could, and his face turned a shade of purple.
He finally gave me the adress, and I released the rope, but took it with me and I began to walk down the hall. Then I turned back, and puched him in the jaw, knicking him out. I smiled with satisfaction, and went down the hall.
I opened the third door, the one I assumed was a bathroom, and pushed the door open. It was almost identical to the one I was in, and I walked down the staircase. I saw a girl who looked about my age, her hands tied and her mouth gagged. When she spotted me, she shrunk back against the wall and screamed.
"It's ok, it's ok!" I said, putting my hands up in defense. "I'm here to help you."

    Chapter 5
Finally, the door was pulled open once more. I was ready this time. I had a rock in my hand, the rope binding my wrists together clutched on my hands, blood smeared all over my face, and a determined face on. I was hunched over in the corner of the room, holding my tools, and the door creaked open. The man, or who I thought was the man, started towards the corner. But when he came closer, a different face. I immediatly shrunk back when I saw he had a white cloth in his hand.
"Come hhheeeeerrrrreee little girl," the man's voice was raspy, definetly not the man who took me.
"Leave me alone!" I screamed, brandishing the rock like a sword. His hand came towards my face, holding the white cloth, and I bit down on his arm as hard as I could. He screamed out, giving me enough time to form a plan. When he came at me again, he smacked the cloth over my face. I didn't breathe a single breath, but then relaxed after a few seconds, leaving him to think I was unconcious. I heard him laugh, dropping me on the ground. I kept my eyes shut, unmoving. He layed me down on the ground, flat out, and when he tried to unzip my jeans, I curved my leg around his neck and twisted. He screamed, but the sudden noise was cut off by a sickening crack. I slowly pulled my leg away, and he thumped onto the ground. His eyes were empty; surely dead. I shuddered, thinking what he would have done to me if I had let him live.
I groaned and looked up the staircase. He had foolishly left the door open.

    Chapter 4
I was sitting on the floor of the room, biting down on my knuckles to keep from screaming. It had been at least three hours, maybe more. Was he still standing by the door, listening to my whimpers, enjoying my pain?
Suddenly, the door shot open and an arm stuck in the room, holding a bowl. I spider-ed over to a corner in the room. The bowl was thrown down the stairs, clattering at the bottom. Something spilled out of it. The door slammed shut.
I crept over to the bowl. It had a small image of a bone on it, and a smiley face sticker. Dog food spilled out over the edge of it. Something clicked in my head. I got it then, that I was his dog. I screamed in frustration, kicking the bowl as hard as I could. No matter how hungry I got, I would not eat dog food. I would not give him the satisfaction of being a dog. The door of the room burst open again, and I quickly crawled to the corner of the room again.
"Hello." His voice, deep and sullen, rang out. I stayed in the corner. I had to do something.
"D-don't touch me," I stuttered. "Stay away." He laughed, walking towards the corner. I shrank back, causing him to laugh again.
"No where to run, sweetheart." I couldn't help it. I screamed and tried to run away, but he grabbed my shoulder, holding on tight.
"I don't think," he said, running his lips over my ear, "you ever told me what your name is."
I shuddred and didn't reply, until he bit my ear. I cringed and managed to get out, "Piper." He smiled.
"Nice name." He stood up. "I notice you didn't eat your dog food."
"I'm not going to be your-"
"Bark." He stared at the ground.
"NO." I said, staring right at me. He looked up.
    "Excuse me?"
"I'm not going to bark." My heart was racing.
"I said BARK!" he smacked me, ripped me out from the corner, and shoved me on the ground. I barked. I had to. After that, he tied my hands up, threw me over his shoulders, and brought me into another blood stained room. He threw me down the staircase and left.
I layed on the ground for a few minutes, trying to find a good reason of why this happened to me. I had done nothing to deserve this. And then one important detail popped into my head.
It was a warm spring night a couple of weeks ago, and I was sitting on the couch with my mom watching the news.
"Several missing people have been accounted for in the last month. One dead body of a young girl was found deep in a hole, covered in vomit. No one knows who the killer could be." That was all of the news report I could remember. So this was the guy. The murderer I thought nothing of that spring night. Would I end up like the girls on television, tied up like a hog in some hole somewhere? Covered in blood and throw up?

    Chapter 3
I remained completely silent and still as the man carried me around hallways and rooms and through blood stained doors. I didn't even dare to shiver. Finally, he unlocked a door. The room had a long, dirty staircase, and was cold and damp. The man tore the rope away from my wrists, set me down, and stared intently into my eyes.
"Your eyes," he said. I didn't dare speak. "Ice blue..." he stuck one hand out and shoved me down the staircase. I screamed, tumbling down the old unstable stairs, and finally landed on the hard concrete ground. I moaned, and he laughed and shut the door. I groaned and pushed myself off the ground. I hadn't broken anything, but my back was already starting to ache. I sighed and got up. The room looked pretty much the same as the last room, except there was no matress or blood. I hoped. It was dark and damp. I sat down, rubbing my arms, and thought about what my mom was doing. She'd probably found the note by now; it was around five when I was taken, and she usually got up around 6. I thought about her drug addiction, the main reason I ran away. She was completely addicted, and took my money whenever I managed to get any. She was unemployed; my father was sick, so some nights we would go without food, which was okay with me. I had never been a really hungry person.
I wonder how long I'm going to be here before I think of a way out, I thought to myself. I remembered a book I had read where men escaped from prision by digging through the ground with spoons, but I doubted that would do we any good. Suddenly, I had an idea. I grabbed a rock from the corner of the room, ran up the stairs, and started to smash the doorknob with it. All I heard was deep laughter, and my arm froze. Had he been by the door the whole time? I dropped the rock and immediatly backed away, almost falling from the staircase. I had nothing. NO way of getting out.

    Chapter 2
I tried to spin around, but the hands had a firm grasp on my face and around my mouth. I felt my tote bag being ripped off of me. Then someone's stale breath in my ear, a man's voice, "Little girls like you shouldn't be out at night. They could get into...trouble." He chuckled, and a shiver went down my back. I felt my hands pulled behind my back and duct taped, and I was powerless to fight back as the man pressed a cloth over my mouth, and I faded into darkness.
    ***
My eyes blinked open, and I rolled over on the hard ground and immediatly panicked. Where was I? Where was my bag? Then I remembered the man's cruel voice; you could get into...trouble. Another shiver made it's way down my spine. I took in my suroundings; a damp, dark room, probably a basement, pipes everywhere, and a stained matress in the corner of the room. My eyes widened and my heart dropped. What is that matress for? The duct tape around my wrists had been replaced with frayed rope, impossible to cut through without a knife. Then I remembered the pepper spray and knife in my tote bag, and my heart sank even lower. My only way to protect myself, gone. I ran up to the old stained door, grabbing onto the handle and shaking it. It was no use; the door was locked tight. Bile rose in my throat as I pulled my hand off the knob and felt sticky blood everywhere.
Suddenly, I heard the door jostling from the other side, and bounded down the stairs, layed on the ground and pretended to be asleep. I heard the door open, and feet clumbsily tromp down the stairs. I felt my body be flipped over, and a slap on my face. My eyes immediatly opened, and the body of a man was hovering over me, too dark to see his facial features.
"You're coming with me," he said in a deep voice, throwing me over his shoulders like I was a sack of potataoes. I screamed and pounded on his back with my tied hands, until he fnally put a gun to my head.
"One more noise and I pull the trigger, kay?" he murmered in a calm voice. I knew then, I never should have left home.

    Chapter 1
Plop. Another raindrop plopped down on my head. I sighed, throwing my tote bag over my shoulder, and continued walking along the empty street
It was 5:00 in the morning. I had left approximatly three hours ago, and 2:00. I left one note for my mother, cursing her, making it clear I wouldn't be back.
I should have brought a book, I thought to myself. Or more food, or... my mind trailed off with all the things I had done wrong when packing and leaving. I had pulled out a notebook and listed them while walking, before it started to rain. I always liked to be prepared for things, unlike my parents who hardly ever plan. Here was the list:
    1. I didn't put the screen back in the window when I left.
    2. I don't think I brought enough food.
    3. I should have brought mace or pepper spray.
    4. I brought a knife. Hard to explain to the cops with all the murders going on, even if it's good protection.
    5. I should have brought more than a light sweatshirt.
I nodded to myself at that last one; I was already shivering, trying to wrap the sweatshirt around me for extra warmth, though it provided little protection against the harsh wind and rain.
Suddenly, headlights flashed around the corner, and I dived into a nearby bush to prevent getting spotted. When I was sure the car was gone, I stepped out, brushing myself off. I stepped off back into the sidewalk, only to have a large hand clasp around my mouth.

    Summer of Dreams
    Chapter 13
    Epilouge
It's been three weeks since Tracy and I hid the body. She left a couple days after that, and we didn't text or email in fear that the cops could track our phones and computers. In fact, I had barely used any technology since I killed Trevor.
It was so weird to think about it. I killed someone. I'm a murderer. I'm vicious. Which is why I'm here in my room. I silently slide my headphones on, play Fix You by Coldplay, slice my wrists open. I can't live with the guilt anymore. With this weight on my shoulders anymore. The last thing I see before I fade away is the christmas lights over my bed, shining as bright as ever, even if I'm not there to see them. It seemed fitting, for the last things I ever heard were the lyrics lights will guide you home, and ignite your bones and I will try to fix you.
    I'm sorry. Goodbye.
    Author's Note
THE END. Summer of Dreams seems like a cruel joke of a title now. Soooo tell me how you liked it! And if you disliked it! Too much violence? Too sad? NO true love? Newsflash, not every story is happy. And did you think that Trevor and Maggie deserved to die? Comment!

    Summer of Dreams
    Chapter 11
The next day, Tracy and I decided she should stay for a week, so we moved up a matress to my attic bedroom.
"Hey, do you think you could show me those woods outside your house?" Tracy asked. I grinned.
"Sure, no problem." We left about a half an hour later, me with my camera and Tracy with her phone.
"Hey Maggie?" Tracy said as we walked to the woods.
    "Yeah?"
"Do you think we went too hard on Trevor?" She asked.
"Nah, he deserved it. And what is he gonna do about it anyway?" I said.
She smiled. "Yeah." But she didn't seem very convinced.
A few minutes later, we heard laughter from the bushes.
"What the hell was that?" I said. Suddenly, Trevor and four other people popped out from the bushes, throwing rocks in our direction.
"What the f*ck?" Tracy shrieked, putting her arms up to protect herself.
"Trevor!" I yelled. "Stop it!" Him and his friends kept chucking rocks at us for a good five minutes, when they finally stopped.
"Heyyy Maggie!" Trevor slurred. His friends laughed.
"Trevor, I swear to god, leave us the f*ck alone," I growled throught clenched teeth.
"Why don't we just run away?" Tracy spat. "They're not worth it."
"Aww, now I'm insulted," he said in a mock tone.
"Shut the hell up," she said.
"What the f*ck are you gonna do about, wh0re?" He asked, a stupid grin on his face.
"Ok, c*nt, that's it," I yelled, and walked up and punched him in the face. He stumbled back a few feet, but stayed off the ground. He tried punching me, but I ducked out of the way. The thing that suprised me was when Tracy ran up and kicked him where it hurt, causing his friends to run away, their mouths hanging open. Meanwhile, Trevor was lying on the ground, groaning in pain.
"Not much of a wh0re now, huh?" Tracy said, a cocky smile on her face.
"Let's go," I said. Tracy swiftly turned around, flipping her perfect blonde ponytail over her shoulder, me beside her. But I was still worried.
If Trevor was willing to hurt us, what would he do next?
    Author's Note
Short and sweet. oh my gawrsh how violent of me to write this. Trevor sucks. Which is sad because I love the name Trevor. And if I name my kid Trevor well tht would be awkward, wouldn't it.
