Last week, my bestfriend Jackee and I were bored and wanted to go to the mall.
The only problem was, nobody would give us a ride. So Jackee thought it would be
a good idea to hop on the train that goes right past the mall. I had never done it before,
and I was petrified at the limitless possibilities and events that could take place. I reluctantly
agreed. Once we got to the train tracks, I remember Jackee promising me that everything would be
fine. Now I wish that she had kept that promise. She said that she would yell to me when to jump onto
the train train after her. As I heard the train coming, I remember praying to god that everything would be
okay. The train got closer, I saw Jackee leap toward the train with no problem. I was about to jump
when I heard Jackee's shreak and saw her foot slip. Her leg was instantly severed just above
her knee. She must have hit her head on the way down, because when i ran over, she was
knocked out. I was screaming and crying when i called 911. A nearby homeless man
heard my cries for help and came rushing over. He saw what had happened,
and began to strip off his shirt. He explained to me that he was tying the
shirt above where her leg was severed, so that she wouldnt loose
too much blood. The man then picked Jackee up and brought
her under a bridge where the ground was dry. I looked at
his face as a soft tear began to slip down his cheek.
When the ambulance came, they took Jackee
on a stretcher, as I sat with a blanket
around my arms in the back of
another ambulance.
Jackee was put
into an induced
coma, which is what
she is still in today. Each
day, i visit her at the hospital,
and sit and watch with her family,
and the homeless man that saved her
life. If he had not heard me, she would have
lost too much blood and died. I love Jackee, and
the man who made it possible for her to still be breathing
today. Please, keep Jackee in your prayers, for her to come out
of the coma okay. All i want is my bestfriend by my side on our first day
of highschool. I am thankful each and eveyday that I am visiting Jackee at the
hospital, and not the cemetery. STAY STRONG JACKEE<3
