Cambodia - first we went to the house that the volunteer group has orgainised, where around 30 people from 2 to 40 live together. These amazing people have been living in the slums for their whole life before they were kicked out and their homes bulldozed. Phenom Penn, where the house is looks as though it once has been beautiful, but now is half built, crumbling and crowded. There are people anywhere! If you want to know if I met any relatives, just tell me the names. I visited the slums, where hundreds of people are packed into tiny rooms, and went dancing in the park. It was truely amazing. We also went out to Soksan Village wich is about 4 hours from Phenom Penn and we spent most of our time there. I taught at the school, had tonnes of fun, built an outdoor performing art area and played and got to know the kids. The village was beautiful. There are so many flowers and plants, just outside a jungle-ish type thing. There are huts and I remember everyone who lived in each one, right down to baby Holly. I really had the greatest time - I am going back there to live for a year once I finish school. If you have any questions or names you want to know, just post! I hope this was a nice read.
But here's one small thing: I fell in love with Cambodia. It is so easy to love. The people are so welcoming and their lives are so different. You just fall in love with the culture. From the moment I jumped in a tuk-tuk with a Khmer guy and road through the streets, I knew I would come back.
