UNFORGETABLE
Chapter One
"Are you serious?" I asked my best friend Amy as we walked together to class.
"I'm dead serious."
"You can't be, there's so way."
"Chloe! Are you calling me a liar?"
"Of course not. I just can't believe that Alek would try and hit on you and then go hook up with another girl. Are you sure you heard right?"
Then she got into this whole lengthy story, but I kind of zoned out.
My name's Chloe, and it's my sixeenth birthday tomorrow.
Amy's my best friend, and has been since second grade.
She was boy crazy, always looking for one to keep an eye on.
And right now, it's Alek Persher.
Practically the hottest kid in our school.
He had red-blonde hair, blue-grey eyes, was really tall and so smooth.
He was always hitting on girls, but he wasn't a bad guy. Not your usual player who breaks every girls heart. He was kind of a snob because of his British accent, but I never really spoke to him before, so it didn't bother me.
Because I had Joe.
My boyfriend of two and a half months.
We met over the summer and dated through the beggining of the year.
It was now mid-october and pour relationship was moving a little slowly.
Basic kissing, occasional make-out, but I wanted to go on a real date with him.
But I was okay with that, because I cared about him a lot and didn't want to lose him.
I was kind of shy, not super-outgoing.
That's why it was a miracle meeting Joe. I had had so many problems talking to guys, it was amazing I could even speak to him without fainting. But Joe brought me out of my shell, and now I was a lot more talkative and less nervous.
He had dark brown hair and brown eyes. He was really cute.
My mind continued to wander until I noticed Amy waiting for some kind of response.
"Oh, uh, sorry. What?"
"Just forget it. I mean, even if it was true, there's plenty more guys to go after...like him!" Amy started after a cute boy she found in the hallway. She never really stayed on one person very long. It kind of gave me a whiplash.
I felt someone come behind my waist and I felt my body reac, ready to defend myself.
Then I heard Joe's voice and relaxed.
My reaction scared me, what would I have done? I had never felt aything like that before.
My body had tensed, and a low growl had escaped my throat that I had to fight to choke back down.
"Hey sweetie" Joe said, putting his arm aound me.
I put my hand on his arm that was wrapped around my shoulder, and started walking to class with him.
