I must have fallen asleep in Kory's arms, because I woke up in his bed. Kory was on the floor.
"Kory?" I whispered. He turned to me, and smiled.
"Good morning." He sat up, and leaned against the wall.
"Thanks." I laid back on my back.
"For what?" He was on the bed now.
"For.. comforting me." I laid my head on his leg and looked up at him. He smoothed my hair. "I love having you as a best friend." He didn't say anything, but I didn't care. I just liked having him with me.
"Katie?" He shook my shoulder lightly. I must have fallen asleep.
I turned and looked up at him. "Yeah?"
"I love having you as a.... Best friend too." He sighed.
"Why'd you sigh?" I sat up, and looked at him.
"No reason, just needed to." I leaned against him, and he put his arm around me.
"Well why did you hesitate to say best friend?" I sat up. He didn't answer. "Kory?"
"Because, I don't want to be your friend, or your best friend." I looked at him, and my face started to get hot. I got up from the bed, and stood there.
"What do you mean?"
"I don't want to be your friend, or your best friend...." He stopped."I like you Katie." He looked down at his hands. I stood there, looking at him.
"I.. I like you too. You're the only person who has ever stood up for me, and you listen to me. You make me feel good about myself. Like I mean something to someone." I climbed onto the bed, and sat next to Kory. Kory took my hand, and pulled me close to him.
"Katie, you're amazing."

Me and Kory had become best friends within that week. I went over to his house every day after school, and he stood up for me when I was being tortured. I still hadn't told him about thinking, and attempting suicide, or cutting. I didn't know how to bring it up.
"Kory?" I looked down at my hands thinking of what to say next.
"Yeah?" He looked over at me. We were sitting on his bed, watching some funny show. I didn't know what it was called though.
"Nothing." I said quietly, and then laid my head on his shoulder.
"What's wrong Katie?" He sat up, and looked at me.
"Nothing." I tried to hide it, but I really wanted to tell him.
"There's something wrong. I can see it in your eyes Katie." I looked down at my hands, and then slowly started to pull up my sleeves. He looked at me, and I saw the shock in his eyes. I burst into tears.
"I go home every day, and cry because I'm bullied at school. No one likes me, and they make me feel bad about myself. I've attempted suicide five times because they make me hate myself." I put my head into my hands, still crying. I felt Kory's arm across my back, and he pulled me close.
"Katie, I will help you through this I promise. That's what best friends are for." He pulled me into a hug.
