Of course in science, my lab partner was Garrett. But I already saw that coming. It was my last class and we were actually doing a lab today. We were testing the effects of different liquids when you drop them on little chunks of liver. We worked together really well, cracked a few jokes and it wasn't a complete failure. At the end of class we had to wash our hands to get the smelliness off.
"Be careful there big boy, if you scrub too hard Tara's number will come off" I smirked.
"I don't think i'll need it any time soon." He replied calmly.
"Oh really?"
"Well yeah, I mean i've already got like 10 other girls' numbers. Tara just gonna have to wait in line."
"Jerk."
"Haha relax," he started," Every girls number I got today went straight to the trash."
"Seriously? Why would you do that?"
"Cause I hate that they think they're already into me. It's my first day. They don't even know me. I don't know them. Why should I have thier number?"
So after school, we all walked home to Tanner's house. We watched a movie, played foosball. (girls vs boys) Girls won 3 out of 5 (: then Bree and I had to go home. it was an okay day I guess. But I had to rest up for the soccer tryout tomorrow.
sorry this is so short! the chapters look so much longer when i write them in my notebookkk.(:

As everyone took thier seats, the new kid came in. As soon as he walked in you could see all the girls whispering to thier friends, giggling, bursting with joy on the inside, spazzing out, making wierd faces across the room to let each other know that there was some new eye candy. I just sat there and watched, because Tanner had already warned me that he was a total ladies man. He gave his note to the teacher, Mr. Brown. I saw them have a quick little conversation something that would be about how he wishes that he'll have the best first day, and how that he'll really like it here at Oak Valley High School. They firmly shook hands and I saw him make his way to the back of the room, sitting down on the empty desk next to me. 'i shoulda seen this coming.' It's not that I was going to hate the new kid, it's just that I'm not gonna treat him like all the other girls will.
"Hey! You again"
"Yeah, me again,”
“I was hoping I’d have a class with you”
I pretended I didn’t hear that and just kept talking, “It's a pretty big school, did you get lost?"”
"Nahh, I found my locker real easy then, the guy who's lockers' right next to me, pretty much showed me where's where and stuff. His names Tanner. Know him?"
"Yeah, we've been best friends since like, 1st grade."
"Oh, and you said your name was...?" I admit, he wasn't half bad. He didnt seem like a 'ladies man' at all. But isn't how they all are? I didn't get a chance to answer because Mr.Brown kept talking. You'd think that the back of the room would give us a chance to talk but not when this is the kind of teacher that walks around as he speaks.
"Alright, let's quiet down. Today, I'd like to introduce our newest student, Garrett Baker. He's from South Carolina, so let's all welcome him nicely, especially because he has to put up with the cold terrible weather. Okay? Okay let's move on then, There are new rules in the Cafeteria today...." The rest of the day went on about the same. Introduction of the 'Oh So Amazing Garrett Baker', then the boring things teachers say about 5 days a week. Joy.

"Hey Cari, who was that hottie?" Bridgette said excitedly.
"Uhmm, I think he said his name was Garrett." I said, "I had to sit next to him on the bus 'cause you couldn't find your freakin' shoe. So where was it?"
" I had them on," Bree said quietly, "Sorry, I was completely spacing. And why do you sound like that's a bad thing. You got to sit next to Garrett. Is he new? Did you talk?!" The bell rang before I could reply. We went two different ways since our locker were on the opposite sides of school.
When I got to homeroom, I was the first one there. My teacher wasn't even there yet. Soon after, Tanner walked in. Tanner was one of my best friends. I talked to him all the time and he was the happiest, most hyper guy I knew.
"Hey Girl heeyy! happy monday buuddaaayyy!"
"Haha Hey Tanner, theres no such thing as a happy monday. all mondays are boring."
" Wow, way to harsh my mellow. Anyway, have you met the new kid? His locker's next to mine and i swear he got more girls' numbers in five minutes than i get in a day. Total ladies man, I'm not gonna lie, i'm kinda jealous. But I talked to him and he's cool."
"His names Garrett?" I asked suspicously.
"Yeah, how'd you know?"
"I sat with him on the bus this morning because Bree was late."
"Oh, yeah so I'm walking home with him today, wanna come? Bree too." he asked. I had to think about it. But it's not like i had anything planned, or anything better to do.
"Sounds good." Everyone started to come in and I just sat at my seat in the back of the room. To my right, was Ryan, he was another one of my friends, but he always came late cause he's one of those 'too cool for school' type of people. and to my left was an empty desk. Here I am, alone again. PERFECT.

I walked outside to feel the blast of cold air wrap itself around me. It's freakin' cold outside, I thought. My body was already numb and the harsh wind wasn't helping. Where did summer go? Oh that's right. It left. I was the first one at my bus stop. I stood there waiting for my best friend, Bridgette, or Bree as I like to call her. I whipped my phone out of my pocket. And now my fingers feel like falling off.

Before I could reply, the bus pulled up in front of me. Wow, I would be the only one at the bus stop today. Anyway, I got on the bus a found a place to sit at the back like usual, and texted back Bridgette.

So on this particular Monday morning, I sat on the bus alone. It was so quiet, everyone must have been tired. I gazed out the window thinking about whatever came to my mind. Sometimes, I liked quiet days like these, it made me feel peaceful.
"Can I sit here?" someone asked. It was a guy, and he didn't look familiar. He had nice brown eyes, and chocolate brown hair that fell perfectly into place.
"Sure," I replied, moving my backpack to my lap.
"Thanks," he smiled, " I'm Garrett."
"I'm Carolynne." I politely smiled back I looked back out the window and cherised my few moments of silence. I could feel his eyes burning in my direction. We sat there in awkward silence until we got to the school. When we got off the bus, I searched for Bridgette, who said she would meet me in the front. I found her waving frantically to me so I started my way over there, then I felt the weight of someone's hand on my shoulder. It was Garrett.
"Hey Carolynne, I'll see you around?" He smiled, then walked towards the office.
