Barbie Life
Chapter Twenty
>>Leslie<<
The clock reads eleven. I sit there with Skyler and Amberli. We convinced Kelly not to come. About ten minutes passed, and Amberli nods at the clock.
"About time"
We joined hands, Skyler and I on either side of Amberli. I closed my eyes. When I opened them, I was at the Enclosed.
"We're here." She said. "And we have exactly twelve hours before the angel comes. Or before Leslie gets trapped in the other world. Look up."
We saw the other world through the mist. People with perfect figures and faces. Looking like an army of deadly barbie dolls. Their face drowned of expression.
"You might become them, Les. Seeing you like this..." Skyler choked.
"Hurry! We've got to fix this." Amberli ushered.
We ran about the seperated strings, and smoothed them out. While we clumsily struggled to get them match the blueprint that Amberli bought, she moved with expert hands.
We don't know how much time passed. We just hope it was less than twelve hours. We came here using the 11:11 wish, and we hope to leave too. If we don't, the angel will tear us to shreds.
We just continued to fix our timelines. When we finished, we all sat back and sighed.
"What time?"
"11:11"
"Hurry!"
Once again we joined hands. When I reopened them, I excitedly jumped. Then I gasped.
"Why are we still here?"
"I think... It's 11:12 now..."
Which means we'll die. For sure. This is the end.
"We won't die..." Amberli said, hestitantly.
I need to think of something. I need to think of something fast. Everyone else seems to do the same.
>>Amberli<<
God. No. Wait... yes! My mind clicked. I ran fast to the other side, where I saw that familiar orange string, suddenly beginning, straight and smooth. The color matched the orange string from the single lock of meddled ones. I tugged the end, and brought it to the other one. Now I'll connect the two. I held them together. It takes two minutes.
I heard rumbling and this angel descended. I pressed my fingers harder. Five minute is almost over. Just as she wiped the shocked expression from her eerily beautiful face, and reached out her hand to me, she froze. Two minutes is up. She shrinks.
Gold hair replaces the mess on her head. Fingers disappear. Her perfectly lavendar eyes retreats to blue. Leslie is changing too, back to her old self. The two strings under my fingers connect as one, and Annabel stood where the monster once was.
"It's you. I tried to make you take my spot." Annabel gasped. "Someone took me there! I didn't mean to! I didn't know it was you..." Lesie stopped her by giving her a squeeze that was supposed to be a hug.
"Let's go home."
"We have to wait an twelve hours..."
"Oh right."
And we sat there.
"Thanks, Amberli. Thank you Skyler."
"Your welcome. We did this for you," he smiled and placed his hand on mine. "We're safe".
