no no that's exactly how i am. like, in moral things i'm totally liberal. but in politics im v conservative bc democrats just they give away money and its not rly my place but like obamacare is one of those things. i know some people need healthcare and stuff but its just giving away money. just like its giving away money the way the gov gives away foodstamps, wic privileges, unemployment, and disability. on stuff like marriage, abortion, and equality tho im democrat all the way

This would be a good quote had you used a real method to choosing the artists.
You listed one, if not THE most, influential British artist but only listed passing trends in American music.
Americans have had many, many crazily successful bands and artists as well. For example, Michael Jackson and Madonna.
Both are/were global sensations of their time and are fondly remembered as the king and queen of their genre.
What about Guns n Roses and Journey? Just TRY to find a person who hasn't heard at least one of each band's songs. They are legendary, to say the least.
All four of the artists I just listed far surpass Adele, One Direction, Cher Lloyd (whoever that even is), and Amy Winehouse as far as their impact on music goes.
You can't list the Beatles for Britain and only list 21st century 15-minutes-of-fame pop artists for America; that's biased and does not help to prove your point at all.
This is all coming from me, a British and American citizen, not some butthurt all-American girl. I've lived in both countries; I have much love for both countries but I'll be honest, American music has had just as much, if not more, influence as British music.

you're going to get pooped on by a bird at least once. nobody cares because it happens to everyone
if it's hot, find f//uckin shade
if you stand near a big group at brunch/lunch when you're alone, you won't look alone

i think its kinda ridiculous when people dont even acknowledge that slavery has existed since BC time
like people act like "the white man enslaving the black man" in the united states in the 1800s is the only time slavery happened like no so many people of so many different races in so many different places at so many different points in history were slaves like slavery isnt an issue of its an issue of people enslaving other people
yeah idk felt like mentioning that ill just go now

I_Dont_Know · 1 decade ago on quote 6879785
Ok I agree with you totally and see what you have to say but I just want to add in that usually this was based on race or religion ideology in those times too
thumbs up 0 thumbs down reply

josiewdog123 · 1 decade ago on quote 6879785
No it was usually hierarchy. Someone would raid an area, and enslave the natives. This isn't a religious or racial thing, it a perpetuation of power
thumbs up 0 thumbs down reply

I_Dont_Know · 1 decade ago on quote 6879785
I believe it's a combination of those because you are right but it was almost always based on race or religion too and because one thought they deserved more power than the other which is where hierarchy comes in

Okay. Well my mistake as you seemed to come off as an advocate to me considering the amount of social justice-type quotes, especially the one about not trusting feminists on this website who are - by definition - advocates) you post and the comments you left Eli22b. That's my mistake; I should not have assumed you were something you are now telling me you aren't. I'm sorry.
I can see what you mean about it being a subconsciously done thing and if that is the case that would be exactly why I've never heard it as it isn't spoken about where I live and also just plain out doesn't occur because of population demographics.
I'm sorry this got so out of hand, I hope we can just agree to forgive and forget and move on with both of our lives.
