hey maybe i'll come back to this account one day.
but for now, you'll have to settle for something else.
if you're that intent on finding where i moved to,
then keep looking. for those who really care never
stop trying.

but the tigers come at night
with their voices soft as thunder
as they tear your hope apart
and they turn your dream to shame
he slept a summer by my side
he filled my days with endless wonder
he took my childhood in his stride
but he was gone when autumn came

"andy! oh my god, you came!" the door swung open and a very red, very warm-looking stacia came poking her head out. he noticed the red plastic cup that dangled dangerously from her hand.
"um, yeah... did you need to see the invit—"
"c'mon in!" she interrupted him with a yank by his tie and he was pulled into the house.
he was engulfed whole by the music, the people, the smoke, and the sights and smells. he looked around, taking it in. most of the people went to his school but he had never spoken to any of them before. some danced, some sat. some were talking, some found comfort in exploring each others mouths with their own. others sat in a circle, smoke emitting from the pit, as well as laughter. he even saw a table covered in cups and people flinging ping pong balls into them.
"it was crazy ya know, i thought you were a no-show that you weren't gunna come that you totally ditched my invitation party thing but you didn't and you're so cool andy you're so cool," stacia grinned up at him, her speech slurred and her eyes glassy with a tinge of red.
"oh haha," he said a bit nervously and absentmindedly. he took a large notice that most of these people were just wearing casual clothes and he couldn't of felt more out of place.
"well c'mon andy there's soo much you gotta try..." she took him by the hand and led him to the kitchen.
bottles and cups and cans and chips were discarded in the kitchen, making it almost an obstacle course just to get in. people leaned against the counters and talked, every single one of them holding a can or a cup in their hands. stacia let go of andy and poured some beer into a cup before shoving it towards him.
    "go on andy!"
her enthusiasm was enough to fuel his curiosity and he lifted the cup to his lips. he swallowed and his face skewered, the bitterness and hot consistency burning his throat. that was awful, he inwardly moaned to himself. stacia laughed at his expression wrapping an arm around his waist.
"you'll get used to the taste i promise. lets go dance!" she tugged at his arm again and he put down the cup, still smacking his lips together from the disgusting aftertaste.
(this chapter was very long so it's split into two parts—should i put the second part up today?)

he straightened his black tie and stared at himself in the mirror. his white dress shirt with light, thin baby blue stripes accended his charcoal gray suit. he wasn't really sure what to wear to a party like stacia's—then again, he had never been to a party at all. he toyed with his dark hair, ruffling it up and pulling at the tiny tail that hit the nape of his neck. good enough, he sighed, a bit disdained. before he left, he remembered to grab the invite.
music. lots of it. he heard the impending beat get louder and louder as he walked. he had no use of transportation except for his own two feet—and besides, if you know all the roads and street names, what was the point? walking was just as good as sitting in a rolling metal contraption. he saw the upcoming gate that protected the community stacia lived at. a policeman stood in front of his little post, a clipboard in hand. he felt his throat tighten as anxiety kicked in.
"state your name?" the officer's voice was gruff and leaked tiredness.
"um, andy?" he replied nervously, his hands finding interest in his tie.
"andy... andy... andy hetrick?" the policeman looked up and squinted. the boy nodded and swallowed hard. his palms were slick and they dampened the invitation card.
    "alright, well have fun son."
"thank you." he walked inside as the gate opened before closing shut behind him. he let out a shaky sigh before glancing down at the invite again.
he followed the sound, looking at the door numbers as he passed through. as it got louder, he felt smaller and he didn't like that. when he arrived at the house, he felt deflated. he could see shapes of people through the windows and the radical sounds of laughter and shouting mixed in with the music. you're doing fine andy, he promised himself. he closed his eyes and exhaled before pressing the doorbell.
(sorry it was cut a bit short—shall i continue?)

“oh, yeah that's cool i guess,” he smiled stiffly. but in fact, he had no idea what in the world she was talking about. what was beer pong? and she said there would be pot? the only pot he knew of was what sat on his patio, and that held a plant.
“mhm. so, you're coming?” she twirled a strand of brunette hair around her index finger. her teeth grazed her bottom lip and he felt himself grow warm.
“y-yeah. yes, i'll... i'll go.” he nodded and her face broke out into a smile; he managed a sheepish one.
“awesome! see you there.” she let one of her make-up clad eyes fall into a wink as she turned away.
he watched her leave before looking down at the invite:
    STACIA'S PARTY
    2181 CAMBRIDGE DRIVE
STATE YOUR NAME @ THE GATE
    BRING INVITE! IF YOU AREN'T
INVITED, GO FLY A KITE LOSER!
(some random excerpt i was writing — should i continue?)

    you could be the quietest
    most timid
    writer
    in the entire world
    but you would be
    the most amazing
    and those who notice
    are worthy of your presence
    and company
    because who needs fame
when you've got a small group
    of people who actually
    care

silence is dry; sound is wet.
volume is the mass of sound.
    in silence you can hear
    people think, but only when
    their bodies stop making noises.
but who cares what people think?
    the noises their bodies make
    are more interesting anyway.
    listen to your body.
    talk to plants.
    ignore people.

    that I keep fantasizing
    that one of us is
    dying of cancer,
    so that I don't have
    to break up with her.

    and then it came
it wasn't scary or horrid like how
    you see in the movies
i felt my bones grow cold and my lips
    loose color
and my vision was glazed as the donut
    i ate that afternoon
his hands cupped under my frigid body
    and he carried me away
and while we floated somewhere off too
far for anyone else to see
    i saw me
    curled up
and i never looked so peaceful
