    The Bet
    Chapter 4
    Luke's POV:
I opened the bathroom door and glanced around the lobby.
Phew, they were gone! Now that I didn't have to worry about Alexandria and Dylan, I looked for Sammy.
    Where was she?
I walked out of the men's room and into the lobby, keeping my head down incase any other people from school walked by. I shot a glance in every direction, hoping to see her.
    I sighed.
    She was mad.
I opened the big doors that led to the parking lot and saw her long, strawberry blonde hair.
"Sammy!" I half yelled, half whispered, chasing her. She kept walking.
"Sammy," I murmured, grabbing her arm when I caught up to her.
    Sammy's POV:
I heard him coming from behind me and quickened my pace. But sure enough I felt a hand grab my arm and pull me towards the back of the theater.
"Luke," I growled. "Stop!" I tried to yank my arm out of his hand.
"Just, one second." He said and we reached the back of the theater where no one could see us.
I stood against the wall with my arms crossed and he stared at me.
"Well, I think it was really douchey of you to go and - " I started, but was interrupted by his soft lips touching mine.

    The Bet
    Chapter 3
    Sammy's POV:
I couldn't breathe, I was laughing so hard.
"D- Di- Did you s-see that?!" I gasped to Luke, tears streaming down my face.
He nodded, nearly falling out of his seat from laughter, eyes pinched shut.
I had to take deep breaths to stop laughing, because my abs were starting to seriously kill me.
Gosh, this was the best movie ever. The corners of my mouth hurt from smiling.
    Luke's POV:
"Hands down, that was the best movie of my life!" I exclaimed to Sammy as we walked out of the theater.
    "Agreed!" She chimed in, smiling.
Her smile was nice. I'd never really seen it in school.
"Luke?!" I heard a confused voice shout. I looked up to see Alexandria and Dylan, the hottest girls in the grade. I panicked. No matter how into this Sammy girl I was, I could not be seen with her.
"Say I'm not here!" I hissed under my breath at Sammy and turned abruptly to go to the bathroom.
    Sammy's POV:
My heart sank and I got that burning feeling in my throat again.
"Uhm, that's my brother," I lied to the girls. The just rolled their eyes.
    "Whatever," Alexandria scoffed at me.
"Loser," Dylan giggled as they proceeded to get their movie tickets.
Tears welled in my eyes and I glanced back towards where Luke had gone. He was out of sight.
A salty tear dribbled down my cheek and I wiped it away, storming out of the lobby. I was going home.

    The Bet
    Chapter 2
    Sammy's POV:
I sat at the table, stirring my Dr. Pepper with my straw, bored out of my mind. The boredom wasn't what was killing me, though. It was the disappointment. I was all excited and thrilled that the Luke Underwood asked me out, but where am I now? He had said he was going to the bathroom 15 minutes ago.
A burning knot formed in my throat, my eyes felt pinched and I bit my lip. Why did everyone hate me so much? It was just a stupid rumor...
"Hey." A voice interrupted my thoughts.
"Hey." I grumbled back at Luke.
    "There was, uh, a line."
    "Kay."
He sat with a defeated sigh.
    "Sooo," he muttered, looking around.
I tapped my fingernails on the checkered tablecloth.
"Well. We paid the bill. Let's get outta here." I suggested.
    He paused.
"You uh.. wanna see a movie?" He murmured. I looked up at him.
"Sure," I said, trying not to smile.
    Luke's POV:
No. No no no. You do not like this chick! I tried to tell myself.
No. I didn't like her. That was official. But something about her eyes.
Oh my God, stop it Luke! My conscience shouted.
She was interesting. And that's about all I knew at that point.
