Never Alone #1
It was yet another routine, something i had gotten used to over the years that have passed so quickly. I rearranged the uncomfortable blue & red pleated skirt, and tried to smooth my blouse. I checked my hair in the window as i walked passed, making sure that it was still perfectly waved and soft. I tried to smile at myself, but that just didn't work.
Walking through the front gates wasn't very hard. All it took was a few steps, i tried to tell myself. The bell rang just as i walked through, and i hurried to get to my roll call class, 8R6. It means year 8, roll call number 6. I hitched my skirt just a teensy bit higher as i walked through the door, and quickly sat down at the back, in one of the lonlier seats.
I was doodling on my scrapbook when i heard a laugh. I looked up, and saw a bunch of jocks laughing at me. I could feel my cheeks turn pink.
"Aw, man," the tall blonde one smirked, "Jake, this chick took your seat."
A tall, dark-headed guy with gorgeous green eyes turned, and looked at me, not saying anything.
"What?" I said finally, "Do you want me to move?"
He half-smiled. "Yeah, i was sorta hoping that... "
"Well, that ain't gonna happen." I crossed my arms, and looked up at him. Probably just another self-obsessed jerk... with amazing eyes, I thought.
He smiled, a mischievious glint in his eye. "Oh yeah?" He picked me up, as though i were as light as a feather, and placed me gently onto another seat, the one in front of his. I struggled to fix my skirt, as i was flashing. He laughed, and sat down.
"Freak," I muttered. I could hear him laughing to his mates, and chatting about some football game.
When the bell rang, i picked up my bag, and stalked towards the door, trying to rub out the image of his piercing green eyes, and brown hair.
"Hey, beautiful," I heard him say.
I foolishly turned, hoping he was talking to me. I blushed furiously as i realised he wasn't. He was talking to a tall, beauitful blonde, with long legs, nicely tanned.
"Jake," She breathed. She wrapped her slender arms around his neck. I saw him lean in responsively, about to kiss her, and cringed mentally.
"Chop, chop there!" The principle, Mr Adams, suddenly called. He stopped right before Jake and his girlfriend. He frowned at Jake, but he gave the girl a smile.
"Hayley! You naughty little girl, making out in the corridor. What are your parents going to say if i called them up, huh?" He asked.
She giggled. "Oh, please don't! I'll do anything if you don't." She grabbed his hand, and when Jake wasn't looking, she pressed it against her chest, only for a second. She smiled deviously.
Mr Adams flushed. "Well, we'll have to think of a punishment. Maybe a detention would serve you right. A detention in the principle's office, all nice and cosy, would serve you right! And what about you, Jake?" He turned to Jake. "I think it's better if you keep your hands to yourself, eh?"
Jake laughed.
Mr Adams gave them half a disapproving smile, and turned to the other kids. "Detentions! Go to Period one immediately, otherwise you'll all have detentions!"
I quickly walked pass Hayley and Jake, trying not to catch their eye, as i made my way to Period 1.
