What is YOUR opinion on bases?

hi OvO
i was wondering...what is you guys' opinions on bases?
traced bases
bases in general
anything
i'm asking this because, they get on the front page frequently, and they get A LOT of hate.
some people see it as art theft, some people see it as no big deal
and also, some people just don't like the ideas of bases in general.
if you want MY opinion on them; i hate them.
i think that, it's VERY disrespectful to artists that have worked hard on a picture, only to have it traced, for people to doodle and draw their own characters and say "look what i worked so hard on" no. you didn't. youcheated.
i know, i know, i've used bases for traditional art before, and i regret it. i wish i never did. and i won't ever do it again.
i could only imagine if i only used bases OnO i wouldn't have my own "style" (if i even have one) and wouldn't be able to draw anything myself.
i'd need "help" and i wouldn't like that.
i think bases are okay to start out with. like, to get a little idea of how anatomy works, and get an idea on how to work digital art. but, using them ALL THE TIME will NOT help you. not one bit.
and also, it angers me even more when crap-art is created with them. it makes me sick. and they still think they "worked so hard" on it. yeah, i'm sure you REALLY sat there, thinking about the anatomy and placement of the face, arms, shadows, ect.
oh wait. no you didn't.
now, i HAVE come across some people who do amazing work with bases. and you can SEE the effort put into them. especially when you use MS Paint to do them, that's skill and is pixel art. but yet, maybe, if they tried to draw on their own, it wouldn't look as nice.
