    Here We Go Again
    Chapter 3
    I held my head high and walked into the gym. I could see Cecilia out of the corner of my stretching with the other girls. Everyone was staring at me, waiting for me to crack. I threw down my bag and sat down on the gym floor next to Madison. Madison was one of my good friends and she pretty much fit the typical cheerleader stereotype. Long wavy blonde hair, preppy clothes, friends with everyone. But Madison is one of the kindest people I know. She'll do anything to help someone.
    "Hey Al," she said with a smile. "How ya doin?"
    "I've been better," I said with a shrug.
    "Well you know I'm here if you need anything."
    "I know. Thanks Madison," I smiled.
    Practice went by slowly. I didn't say a word to Cecilia, and she made no effort to say anything to me. I kept looking at the clock until it said 8 o'clock. As soon as practice was over and Liz, our coach, dismissed us, Cecilia was the first one out the door. I took my time, not wanting to cross paths with Cecilia. Madison and I walked out together to our cars. That is until something made us both stop in our tracks.
    Cody's car was out there. The team doesn't have practices on Thursday. I walked over to the car. Cecilia's duffel was on the passenger seat. I was fuming.
    Madison had noticed it too. "C'mon Alejandra, let's just go..."
    "Go home Madison, I have stuff to do." Madison tried to grab my arm, but I moved away. She looked at me, her eyes filled with worry, but she slowly went to her car.
    Cody's rear windows were tinted, so I couldn't see into them. But I could imagine what was going on. I'd done this with him too. I knocked on the window. I heard movement inside, before Cecilia opened the door.
    I immediately grabbed her shoulders and pulled her out of the car. I was already pounding her into the ground before Cody was even out of the car. She tried to fight me off, but I was much stronger. I was releasing all my pain and anger that I'd kept in for the past 2 days out on her. I was screaming and crying as I hit Cecilia. Cody dragged me off of her. He received a few punches and kicks as well. I was squirming in his arms; I just wanted to leave. Why? Why is this happening?? I asked myself. I was now sobbing.
    "Listen! I'm sorry for what we did. It was wrong, and I apologize. But what you did was wrong too! So just go home!!" Cody shouted and shoved me away.

    Chapter 1
    I look up at my bedroom ceiling, tears streaming down my cheeks. I can only imagine how hideous I look. Someone knocks on my door. I don't bother to get up or say anything.
    "Alejandra? Honey, open the door. You should eat something." my mother says.
    I had no appetite. I'd locked myself in my room for the past 8 hours. My mom had come to my door every hour ever since she'd gotten home at 5. It was now 8 o'clock.
    I slowly sat up in my bed and looked around my room. A messy closet with clothes spilling out, a small sofa covered in magazines and DVDs, my laptop sitting on my desk. My cellphone was across the room, in pieces, after I'd thrown it at my wall. I stood up and walked over to my full length mirror to see how much damage was done. Strands of my dark brown-black hair stuck to my face, my eyes were bloodshot, and my face was puffy and red. My stomach grumbled from under my Bailey High School cheerleading t-shirt. I was hungrier than I thought.
    I opened my door as quietly as possible and peeked my head out. My older brother Marco was sitting in the living room watching TV. Well, at least it's not Mom. C'mon, Al it's now or never, I thought to myself. I passed by Marco silently without making eye contact. I entered the kitchen, made myself a sandwich, and went back to my room. Marco was sitting on my bed, waiting.
    "Okay, what's up? You know I won't leave till I get an answer." I looked at him. I could tell he was concerned, although he was trying to play it cool.
    "I-I-I...." I could feel my stomach tighten and was suddenly overwhelmed by tears. I fell into his arms, and he held me tight as I cried.

    Aubree's POV
    I woke up in my bed with my pajamas on. The last thing I remembered of last night was falling asleep in Cooper's arms in the hotel lobby. I have no idea what happened after that. I sat up in bed, rubbed my eyes, and looked at the clock. 11:37. I lazily got up out of bed and walked downstairs. I passed the living room, nobody was there. It was strange considering it was a Sunday morning, so nobody had to work. "Mom? Coop?" I called out. No answer. I wandered into the kitchen. On the table was a plate with a stack of 2 pancakes, eggs, and bacon. I smiled to myself. There was a note set next to the plate.
    Happy 17th birthday sweetheart!
    I hope you had a good time at your party last night even though I was told some things went wrong. In case you were wondering, you fell asleep in the lobby at the hotel. Cooper took you home shortly after, dropped you off, and then went back to the party to help Mackenzie and Eli clean up.
    I'm writing this note to you because, unfortunately, my boss called me last night, and I have to go on a unplanned business trip to Chicago. I should be back on Wednesday. My flight takes off at 11:30, so I'll call you as soon as I land.
    I love you, Aubree. Happy birthday.

    I set the letter down when I finished reading. Okay, so now I understood things a little better. So if Mom's flying to Chicago, where's Cooper??? I left my plate of uneaten food for a moment and ran upstairs to get my phone. I had over 20 new texts! Most of them were messages wishing me "happy birthday", but one was from Coop. It was left at 11:15.
    "Hey hun. I stayed over at Eli's last night after helping clean up. I stopped by the house about 10 minutes ago to say goodbye to your mom and see you, but you were still sleeping. I'm at the grocery store and running a few errands now, I'll be home around noon. Love you and happy birthday. Can't wait to spend it with you."
    I walked back downstairs to the kitchen. Cooper should be home in about 10 minutes, so I sat down and ate. I finished the entire plate. Damn! I just ate alllllll that food! No wonder people get so fat when they're pregnant, they're eating for two people! I was washing my dishes when the door opened and Cooper came in with bags of groceries. He set them down on the kitchen counter and wrapped his arms around me from behind. I turned around and hugged him. He hugged me tight and kissed my head. "Happy birthday Aubree." I looked up at his dark blue eyes and gorgeous smile. I stood on my tiptoes and kissed him lightly on the lips. That light little kiss, soon turned into major kissing. We stood making out in the kitchen for several minutes. When we pulled apart, out of breath, Cooper swept me up in his arms and carried me to the couch in the living room. I was kissing his neck and then we sat down on the couch and started making out again. I was sitting on Cooper's lap straddling him. His arms were around me, mine hands were in his hair. I had a feeling deep down inside me, that today was the day that Cooper and I were finally going to make love together. And with that thought, I began to smile as we kissed.
