I Knew You Were
Trouble
Chapter 1
**NIALL’S POV**
Ebony. The only name that makes sense in my crazed world. But more dangerous than anyone I’ve ever known. You wouldn’t classify her as a player; you classify her as heart-breaker. Because once she wins your heart, you never get it back and if you do, it’s destroyed.
“Niall, that’s a really bad idea, you know how she is” Liam sighs, staring at the white ceiling of my room. I still can’t believe he talking about his cousin in this way. Like she’s the prostitute off the street, no-one worth my time. But she is to me. She is worth everything.
“I do but I have another problem, why do you hate her so much?” I ask him, looking at his face intently, trying to pick out the lie. A flicker of sadness fly across his face before it is sternly pushed away and a blank mask appears, one that I have become familiar with since he and Danielle broke up.
“I have my reasons” he says levelly but the slight catch in his voice at the end of the sentence betrays his words. There is something more about Liam and Ebony, something more than he will let on. But I don’t press him, we all have our secrets. Especially her.
“Well, she’ll be here soon so I better warn the lads” I tell him, getting of my comfortable blue bed and make my way to Harry’s room, walking away from Liam’s warning.
‘She will break you Niall’
**EBONY’S POV**
Do I really want to do this? Do I really want to hurt him? Do I really want to move on from my dead ex-boyfriend who still owns my heart?
I drum my fingers against the worn leather of my steering wheel as I try to shake my thoughts out of the past with no avail. But they come sneaking back, infecting my mind with memories of the past.
I squeeze my eyes tightly shut for a second, trying to stop the tears. I haven’t cried for years and I have no intention of doing so now, no matter how hard it gets. To stop him from falling in love too hard and breaking his heart in the process. To stop feeling that feeling of warmth that infects me whenever I’m with him. To stop my emotions taking over my mind.
I pull up at the dark side walk and step out of my scratched car, tossing my long brown hair behind my neck. My light green eyes flicker around as I quietly make my way up to his door, trying not to disturb anything.
I gently turn the doorknob, not bothering to knock and open the door to be greeting with my least favourite cousin. Liam James Payne.
“Hello Ebony, not here to get in Niall’s pants are we?” he says with icy coldness, the fake smile chilling me to the bone.
I hate him.
