Just My Luck Chapter 2
The day was almost over, I grabbed all of my stuff from my last class and headed to my locker. I was thinking about my whole day today, I managed to try to make a couple friends and the teachers weren't so bad. The memory that kept popping up in my head was the whole scene with Kayla (who I found out was the schools head cheerleader, figures) and the mysterious Kyle. He's the oh so athletic hottie every girl talks about. I found out he's the football quarter back with probably a big future in front of him. I wonder why he broke up with the most popular girl at school, but i tried to not think about it. Why should I care anyways? My thoughts about Kyle ends now, I told myself. Theres no use of thinking about someone who has the least of interest in me. I'm done with guys anyways, it shouldn't be too hard of a task for me to follow. I closed my locker and headed for my car, the parking lot was filled with students talking and making out and what not. I was looking for my car trying to remember where I parked it when i tripped and fell, scraping my knee on the hard ground. I looked down and saw that my shoes were untied and I had a rip on my new skinny jeans. "Great" I mumbled. All of a sudden I felt someone reaching down, grabbing my hand helping me up. "Thanks" i said dusting myself off. "No problem, Leslie, right?" I looked up and I saw the same blue-gray eyes I saw this morning. I cleared my throat "Yeah, how'd you know my-?" he cut me off "This morning remember? When you…interrupted my discussion with Kayla." he looked away, nervous. I laughed, "Right, you mean the one where you dumped, what, your 3rd girlfriend this week? Maybe even your 4th?" I said turning around walking away knowing he's no use of my time. "Hey! Wait up!" he yelled catching up to me. "I think you got the wrong impression of me, I'm Kyle" he smiled with flashing perfect white teeth. "I know who you are" I said frowning, crossing my arms. He looked hurt, but I pretended not to notice. He put his hand down and said "Kayla and I were going out for almost 2 months, she was trying to take things way too fast and I just didn't feel anything big for her, so I thought it would've been best if we broke up". I rolled my eyes "Whatever. Listen i got to go..thanks for helping me up" I said turning around. "Wait!" he said again, this time putting his hand on my shoulder, sending electricity through me. I turned around, "Yes?". "Me and a couple of friends are going to a party this weekend, want to come?" he asked with hopeful eyes. "Well as exciting as that sounds" I said sarcastically, "I have to help my mom unpack the rest of our furniture." which wasn't entirely a lie. "C'mon, you cant talk your mom out of it?" he said pleadingly. "And how am i supposed to do that? Tell her 'oh hey mom as much I'd love to unpack with you, I'd rather go out and party with some wild teenagers i barely know!' ". He sighed and leaned in, his face 2 inches away from mine, "Please?" he breathed, "For me?". I was speechless, his face was so close to mine giving me butterflies I wasn't expecting, I was forced to look back into his eyes which were so dreamy looking. I snapped myself out of it, sighing, "Fine. I'll see what I can do". His face lit up "Great, I'll pick you up". He winked at me and walked away. I was walking back to my car when I turned around realizing I forgot to ask him something. "Hey what time-?" I stopped myself. He was already at his car which was on the complete other side of the parking lot, no one could've gotten there that fast, not even a quarter back from the football team. I got in my car and started driving out of the driveway and out of campus, I looked in my reverie mirror and he was looking at me, leaning on his car with an amused look on his face. "Theres something about him…" I said to myself. I took the thought out of my head, I was probably just hallucinating or something. Besides, he was just like any other guy at this school…right?Hey guys! Thanks for all the feedback on my first chapter! It helped me a lot :) I hope you like this better!
