Natalie and Alec watched as Everett glared at them and walked out the glass doors. When Natalie looked back at Alec he was already watching her, wondering what happened. Natalie breathed out slow and closed her eyes. Guess it worked.
"Was that..."
"Yeah."
"Everett?"
"Mhm.."
"Ohh.." Alec's eyes searched the room for something to look at other than Natalie's guilty eyes. Natalie couldn't decide if she should be happy or not.
"this is good right? its just as i planned. He'll want me back now.. i hope."
They played one more quiet game and Alec drove Natalie home. He walked her up to her doorstep.
"Look..I had a really fun time with you.. But i dont want to make any issues with your ex.." Alec said slow, avoiding looking at Natalie.
"Don't worry about it, if he wants to be like that he can. we're having fun," she exhaled, grabbing Alec's hand, making him look at her, "and we don't need to worry about him." She smiled. More lies, more lies.
Alec smiled, relieved, leaned over and kissed her cheek.
"Night."
Natalie immediately went to bed and fell asleep.
Two days passed and Natalie still hadn't heard from Everett. The only acknowledgement she's gotten from him is red eyed glares in class. Natalie hasn't talked to Alec since their date either. Feeling isolated, Natalie sat on her bed with her phone in hand. She switched the selection back in forth from Alec and Everett's contacts.
Suddenly her phone vibrated, "view message".
"Hey..we need to talk."

Alec pulled Natalie past the counter to the lanes, searching for his friends.
"Yo! Alec! Over here!!" Natalie heard a low voice say. It was one of Alec's friends, Drew. He was standing with 2 other guys, and were still waiting for one guy and his girlfriend to come. Alec said hi to them and introduced Natalie. Natalie smiled big and cute. Alec's friends shook her hand, giving Alec one of those "nice job" looks.
Drew set up the game and they started bowling. Drew and the other 2 boys went first. Alec and Natalie sat at a table next to them, Alec still holding her hand. Natalie looked around to see if Everett and his friends were bowling yet. They were just setting up a game about 4 lanes away. "Whatcha looking for?" Alec said. Natalie turned around and was met with Alec's icey eyes 2 inches in front of her. She got startled and leaned back. Alec grinned, satisfied in startling her. He stood up and walked over to the lane to take his turn. "Swagg.." Natalie said jokingly. Alec started walking like he was wearing heels or something, smiling back at her.
"So you guys going out?" Drew asked Natalie. "mmm..i dont know." Natalie said. She knew she wouldn't be doing that. This is strict business. "Well, he really likes you." He said, purposely loud and long enough for Alec to hear as he walked back from a strike. "AWW he likes me?!" Natalie said loud, glancing over to Everett's lane. She jumped up and hugged Alec, she could see Everett looking over at them, probably trying to see if it was her. Alec half smiled and gave Drew one of those "wtf was that" looks. She walked over to get a bowling ball and went to attempt hitting a pin.
She talked loud and moved alot so Everett would notice. She hit the gutter 3 times and lost her turn. She walked back as if she got 4 strikes in a row. "Pretty girl swag?" Alec said, leaning against the table. "You know it."
They played awhile longer, and Natalie heard Drew whisper to Alec, "Do what you gotta do, we're gonna go get a drink.", pulling his friends behind him. Alec took Natalie's hand and pulled her in front of him. Natalie looked over to Everett, who was just going to take his turn. Alec pulled her closer and placed her hands on his shoulders. She studied his deep blue eyes and felt a sudden pang of guilt. What am i doing? I'm using him. I'm such an idiot..I can- ..her thoughts inturruped again by Alec's soft lips. They kissed for about 5 seconds when they heard a loud bang. Natalie stopped and looked in the direction of the noise. What did she see? A bowling ball in the gutter..and red eyes.

Two days passed, Natalie was getting ready for her "fake" date with Alec. Her mom has been getting really close to this guy Jack. He was always with her. Natalie tried the best she could to not have any kind of relationship with him. Admiring herself in the mirror, Natalie finished straightening the last piece of hair and waited for Alec to pick her up. They were supposed to go bowling at Popping Pins Bowling with some of Alec's friends. Natalie suggested it because she saw a convo on Everett's facebook, he was planning on going with friends. Ten short minutes later Ale pulled up into the driveway and honked the horn. Natalie said goodbye to her mom, ignored Jack, and ran out the door. She slid into the passenger seat next to Alec, he flashed his perfect smile.
"Heyyyy kid" Natalie smiled. "Whoa whoaa, I'm older than you miss. You're the kid." He smirked. He backed out of the driveway and were on their way. Mission "Make Everett jealous" has begun.
Alec parked his truck in a spot at the end of the lot. But there were acouple spots open in the front. Alec and Natalie jumped out of the truck and Alec met her on her side of the car. They began walking down the parking lot together. They were silent, but it was comfortable. Natalie was thinking of ways to get Everett's attention. Her thoughts were interrupted when Alec slowly slid his hand into hers. She looked up at him and smiled, "So that's why you parked so far away? Cute." Alec grinned and looked ahead at the bright neon lights, "Now why would i do that."
They walked in the doors hand in hand, passing the arcade. Natalie glanced over and saw a familiar blue hat standing by a car racing game. Everett, Kelly, Mitch and some other kids were playing there. She kept walking with Alec to get their shoes.
Bowling game: 5.00
shoes: 3.00
make Everett want her back?: Priceless

Alec looked down awkwardly. For a sophomore he was pretty shy. Natalie put on a big smile and grabbed Alec's hand. "Dont worry about it. I'm over him now. More time to hang out with you!" Alec grinned and squeezed her hand.
Alec and Natalie hung out for alittle while more until Alec had to leave. They stood outside Natalie's door. "Soo uhh..since your over him.. and all.. you wanna like..do something..likee uhhh-" "A date?" Natalie put the words in his mouth. "Yeaahh. thats it." He smiled sheepishly. His presence was completely different than Everett's. Everett gave people a dark mysterious feel. He wasnt shy to people he knew. Alec was more like a puppy- which was really cute. Natalie smiled up at him. "A datee..with you? i dont know about thattt..i dont date losers.." She saw Alec's ice blue eyes fall to the floor, thinking she'd say no. "Buuuutt ill make an exception- just this once." Natalie joked, lightly touching his arm. Alec smiled, brushed his hand on hers, and walked to his truck.
Natalie sighed as she watched him drive off. This was going just as planned. Everett would definitely hate this.

After that simple thought Natalie couldnt shut her eyes for 5 seconds. She stared blankly at the ceiling, thinking to herself. "I..cheated? I was drunk, does that count? Alice did this. She set me up..But what if she didnt mean it? Maybe she didnt do anything..& Everett cant find out. Not that I was drunk, made out with Alec-nothing."
Natalie heard her phone vibrate. The name she was fearing to see lit up on the screen. Everett has sent a text.
Everett - "Hey, how was the party?"
"Good"
"You okay?"
"Yeah"
"I'll be there in ten"
Guess he didn't believe her. Natalie threw herself out of bed, getting dizzy for a moment, and checked her eyes in the mirror. They were bloodshot. He would know something happened. And the black&blue on her forehead wont help much either. Natalie ran to her room and covered it with as much makeup as possible.
She tip toed downstairs and waited at the door for Everett, she would have to talk to him outside as to not wake up her mom. Five minutes later she saw his red hat appear in the darkness. She opened the door and stepped out into the cold night.
Everett stopped at her porch and hugged her. She moved her head when he tried to kiss her.
"How was the party?" He asked her.
"Nothing bad happened." She said quickly.
"I never asked if something bad happened.."
"Welll.....nothing happened. We danced and drank and..-" Natalie stopped quickly when she realized she told him she drank. But he didnt react too badly.
"Were you completely drunk? Is that why your eyes are red?" He said searching her face.
"Kind of.." She whispered.
Everett shrugged his shoulders, "As long as you didnt like...you know.." He trailed off.
She lifted her stare from the floor to his green eyes. She whispered so he could barely hear her. "Cheat on you?"

Part 24
Natalie and Everett hung out for a couple hours, and around 5 he decided to leave. Perfect timing for Natalie to get ready for the party. Of course Everett warned her about 2 bajillion times about watching her back at the party, and not trusting anyone completely.
After watching Everett leave she ran upstairs to her bedroom. She threw open her closet and searched for an outfit. She decided on a red long sleeve Hollister shirt, her favorite low rising jeans and her white north face. She straightened her hair, put on makeup, grabbed her cell phone and went downstairs. Her mom was watching TV in the living room.
"Mommy, can you take me to Alice's house?" She asked, her mom didn't know about their mini war.
"Yeah, let me grab my jacket." Her mom said standing up.
20 minutes later Natalie jumped out of her car and walked up to the big house. Natalie was always a little jealous of Alice, her house was huge, she had nice things, tons of friends and guys. She could see lights flashing inside and kids dancing and she heard kids yelling in the backyard.
Natalie knocked on the door and it opened seconds later. She met the stare of Alice, her hair was awesome and she was wearing the cutest outfit, she was holding a red cup.
"Natalie!!" She squeaked and hugged her. Natalie couldn't be more confused. She played along, maybe Alice really did wanna be friends again.
"Baby im sooooo sorry about everything. My friends set everything up I never meant for it to get so far." She sounded oddly sincere, maybe too much..
"Uhhmm, its okay.." Natalie said awkwardly. Alice took her hand and led her inside.
"So my parents are out of town, so nobody needs to worry about getting caught with this." Alice said, pulling out a large glass bottle from the cabinet. The bottle said vodka on it.
"No..i- i cant drink." Natalie stuttered. Sneaking Vodka? whaat?
"Aw cmon, its good. Just try it." She said, giving Natalie a red cup. She took Natalie's hand again and led her to a group of guys.
"hey boyssss!" She said flirty, "This is Natalie, the one I've told you about. My best friend?" Natalie waved shyly.
"Hii.." Alice shoved her into a tall blonde boy.
"Sorryy! sorryy.." She said looking up at his bright blue eyes. Alice laughed and started walking away.
"Have fuuunnn!" She said as disappeared in the mass of kids.
"Uhh.. hey." The boy said quietly, "I'm Alec- Alice's friend." He shook her hand.
"I'm Natalie, nice to meet you." She smiled nervously.
"The girl who A fought, yeah i know." He laughed.
"I didn't! I really didn't." Natalie said quickly, taking a sip of her drink casually.
"Okay, well you want to dance?" He said, holding out his hand. She took it and they walked to where the kids were dancing.

Natalie walked upstairs, threw on a sweatshirt and her favorite pair of sweat pants from Pink, and returned to Everett in the kitchen.
"Good mom?" She joked.
"Yes, thank you." Her mom smiled. Natalie giggled and took Everett's hand, walking into the hallway.
"Nice talking to you Ms. Miller!" Everett called back. Natalie led him upstairs and into her 'random room' which was the name Natalie and her dad gave it. Inside was a big couch, TV, Wii, and whatever else Natalie's mom stored there, hence the name.
Natalie fell back on the couch, pulled Everett next to her and flipped on the TV. They watched for a little while, Natalie was thinking about how to tell Everett about the party. She wanted to tell him, but she knew he would tell her not to go. She decided not to tell him. What he didn't know wouldn't worry him, right?
Unfortunately, Everett noticed her nervous habits- biting her lip and not staying still.
"You okay?" He asked, searching her face.
"Yeaaahh..why?" she said slowly, not looking at him-another habit. She just stared blankly at the screen. He didn't answer, and she still felt his eyes on her.
"What?" She asked, looking at him. She saw his eyes flicker purple quickly. She realized his eyes hadn't been purple around her for awhile, and he never knew what she was thinking.
He wouldn't let it go, and kept asking her.
"You sure?" he said, getting nervous himself.
"Uhh. sorta. No i mean yes, I'm fine." She said, she knew he wouldn't stop until she told him.
"No theres something wrong, you can tell me Nat." He said, still watching her.
"I swear I'm fine." She said giving him a reassuring smile. Everett sighed.
"Fine." He said, looking back at the screen. Natalie felt his hand moving up her back.
"What are you doing?" She said looking at him weird.
"You need to tell me." He said, not moving his eyes from the TV. Natalie felt his hand stop on her shoulder at the base of her neck.
"Please dont." She asked him. She felt him press his hand on her shoulder- some pressure point thing he knew. Natalie screamed and fell into him, laughing hysterically trying to pull his hand off of her shoulder. He was laughing too, she was too weak laughing to stop him.
"okay okay okay STOP" she laughed, "I'll tell you pleaseee stop."
Everett let go of her and let her sit up. To avoid him doing it again Natalie shifted back and told him immediately.
"Fine. I got a message from Alice today" she explained, "she sent me an invitation to her party tonight. I think I'm gonna go."
She searched his face. His eyes changed to a silver-gray color.
"Babe, we both know that's a bad idea." He warned.
"Not really, maybe she decided to lay off and wants to be friends?" She offered.
"Its not that simple." He tried to explain.
"Maybe it is. It wont hurt to go, whats the worst that can happen?" She asked. He didnt answer.
"Exactly."

Natalie was confused. Alice, the girl whose been terrorizing and lying about her since school started wants her to come to a party.?
She studied the message for acouple minutes. It was sent to like 100 people. First she decided she would absolutely not go to this party. No way. But then her best-friend- feelings kicked in. Maybe she was sorry? Maybe she wanted to be friends again?
Natalie decided to sleep on it, so she shut her computer and laid in bed. After 10 minutes of thinking she drifted off into an uneasy sleep.
The next morning Natalie woke up to her mother talking to someone downstairs. Natalie got up and made her way downstairs. As she passed the kitchen she saw her mom alone. She wasn't with anyone.
"Morning honey!" Her mom said happily.
"Hey.." Natalie said groggily, rubbing her eyes and walking on. She stopped suddenly and took a few steps back to the kitchen door. She recognized the red hat on the table. Natalie took a step into the kitchen looking at it.
"Mom..whose hat is that?" She asked confused. As soon as her mom was about to open her mouth Natalie felt someone touch her back. She spun around, screamed and jumped back, tripping on a chair behind her. Everett stood there with a priceless expression of confusion and surprise. He looked down at her on the floor and up at Natalie's mom.
Natalie was out of breath from screaming and stumbling all over the floor.
"Wha- You- He- Everett?" She panted. At least she was wide awake now.
"Uhh, yes? Why'd you just like...flip over that chair?" He tried holding back his laugh as he held his hand out to her. She could hear her mom laughing hysterically from behind the counter.
"I was gonna tell you sweetie, Everett came to see you but you were still sleeping so I told him he could wait for you to wake up." She managed to say.
"Hi babe..You scared me." She said standing up.
"Really? I didn't notice." He teased. Natalie hit his arm with the little strength she had. She saw Everett look at what she was wearing trying not to smile.
"Nice bunnies." He managed, referring to her pink bunny slippers.
"Thanks loser." She said grabbing his hand. "Mom I'm gonna go change." She told her mom, leading Everett to the hallway.
"Nat" She said clearing her throat. Natalie knew what she meant. She turned around rolling her eyes.
"Okay, I'll go change and you stay here." She said loud enough for her mom to hear.
"Thank you." She heard her mom say. She didnt want Everett in her room while she was changing. pfftt. Mothers.

Natalie's eyes widened. "Babe, you remember Emily?" "Mhmmmm.." Everett answered dreamily, half asleep laying in the grass. Natalie sighed confused. "She wants me to talk to her.. Have you paid any attention to their thoughts lately?"
"Nahh..just focusing on you is hard enough." Everett said sarcastically, grinning. Natalie stuck out her tongue and kicked his leg.
Everett looked at her funny, half smiling. Natalie continued with answering Emily. Such a simple response was so hard to type. She didnt know if she could forgive any of them. Especially not Alice. But out of the group Em was one of Natalie's closer friends. Emily knew more about Natalie then Meg or Alice did.
- "Hii.." "Meet me at the park?" "Kay."
Natalie stood up, "Babe, I gotta go to the park and talk to Emily, wanna come?" Everett sighed and pulled himself of the floor, and grabbed Natalie's hand. "Guess thats a yes?" Everett grinned, "Of course baby."
They walked together to the park in about 20 minutes. When they got there, Natalie quickly recognized the light brown hair and bright white hollister coat. Emily was walking past the benches on the other side of the fence. Natalie stopped Everett from walking any further. "Stay here, ill be right back." Everett froze in his tracks and leaned on the fence.
Natalie walked over and sat on this little jungle gym thing. Emily shoved her hands in her pockets and stopped in front of Natalie. The tension between them was awkward. "Uhh..hey.." Emily said, oddly hugging Natalie. Natalie nodded and smiled a little. Emily figured Natalie wouldn't say anything, so she started talking first. "So uhh...I'm really sorry." She sighed. "I didn't want to be mean to you at first, but Alice..she said we had to or she'd tell everyone everything she knew about me.." She babbled. "I'm so so sorry, Alice is a controlling bitc* and I'm sick of her. But if you dont forgive me..I understand.."
Natalie breathed deep,and looked at the floor. Then she didnt intend to, but she found her arms wrapping around Emily's shoulders. "I forgive you." Natalie said, even though she wasn't sure she meant it. Emily smiled, showing off her beautiful white teeth. "Thanks Nat, I'm sorry. Ill make it up to you." Natalie smiled, "Thanks, call me tonight to explain alittle more of this. I gotta go." Emily smiled again, and began to turn around. "Alright, ill talk to you later. Thanks so so sooo much!"
Natalie smiled and turned to walk back to Everett, who was still right where she left him. When she got closer she noticed his eyes were a dark purple-violet. "Did you get any of that?" "Yup." He said quietly, still watching Emily leave through the gates on the other side of the park. "Did she mean it?" "Ohhyeaahh."

Natalie played soccer with Everett's class outside for alittle while, then walked off the field and stood to watch the boys. Kelly walked up to her, she was also in gym with them. Natalie turned away from the soccer game and talked to her. "I didnt do it, In case your wondering. Shes faking it. I'm sure." Natalie said first. "I know Nat. Shes a b*tch. Ill see what Kristen can find out." Natalie covered her face in her hands. She felt like crying. Suddenly she felt someone pinch her sides. She screamed and spun around. It was Everett. He picked her up and spun her around laughing. Natalie squealed and tackled Everett to the floor.
They playfully wrestled in the grass until Everett pinned her down, breathing hard. Even though it wasnt much of a fight. Natalie laughed. She felt 10 times better. "Babe, you win. Get off me!" Everett laughed, poking her. "I dont knowwww. Do you love me?" His eyes were a freaking awesome blue. "YES! STOP!" Natalie yelled. Everett let her arms go and helped her stand. Natalie punched his arm giggling, fixing her shirt and hair.
"Why are your eyes blue?" Natalie whispered. He looked down at her smirking. "Helps me change peoples moods. But it cant do it completely yet." Natalie smiled alittle. "Gee, thanks, use your super powers on your girlfriend." Everett laughed, "thats what its for babee." He wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her quickly. Of course his teacher caught them. "EVERETT! Ms. Miller? No public displays of affection please!" Everett grinned, "Sorry Mr. Daniels."
At the end of gym Everett walked Natalie to her next class, and the rest of the day passed quickly. When the end of the day bell rang, Natalie met Everett outside the back building. They walked aimlessly for alittle while and then went to Everett's house. Natalie and Everett sat outside his house, and Natalie's phone vibrated. She was surprised at the name that came up. It was Emily. "Hey girl. We need to talk."

When they got to Everett's house Kelly walked into the kitchen and grabbed 2 bags of chips. The kids all sat in a circle and snacked and talked. Natalie was silent, listening to the conversation, but her mind was on her "best friends". She thought as she watched the kids be idiots. David was clearly flirting with Kelly, poking her and imitating her yelling. Kristen and Kasper were just staring at eachother oddly.
Natalie sighed and leaned on Everett. She could feel the catch in her throat, but she couldnt cry in front of all of her friends. She swallowed hard and took a deep breath. Everett looked down at her and smiled sympathetically. Natalie's phone vibrated. It was from her mom, reading- "Hey sweetie. Can you come home? I wanna show you something". Natalie was confused, but she sat up straight and put her phone in her pocket.
"My mom wants me to go home. I'll see you guys later." She sighed. The kids said goodbye, Kristen and Kelly hugged her, and Everett walked with her to the door. "Do you want me to walk you home?" Everett offered, reaching for Natalie's hand. She really wasnt in the mood, and moved her hand pretending she didn't notice. "No, it's okay. I- I'll see you later." Everett's eyes were dark green. He looked down at the floor awkwardly. Natalie kissed him quick and hugged him. "I love you. Text me later." She stepped back. "Alright, tell me how it goes with your mom." He said, his eyes were purple; again, no secrets. "Bye"
Natalie ran down the road to her house. There was a blue convertable in the driveway. She walked in the door and heard an unfamiliar voice talking. Natalie stepped in the kitchen. There was a tall man standing with his back turned to her, talking to her mom. When her mom saw Natalie she stopped talking. "Jack, this is my daughter, Natalie" , she pointed to Natalie. The man turned around and smiled at her. "Hi Natalie, I'm Jack. Nice to meet you!" He shook her hand. "..hi. Nice to meet you.."
The man smiled and turned his head to Natalie's mom. "Well then, I must be going to my meeting, Ill call you tomorrow." He said. Natalie's mom smiled, "Alright, Byee!" Natalie's eyes practically fell out as she watched her mom kiss that man. Her jaw dropped, but she tried to be polite and looked away. Her mom walked Jack to the door, Natalie sat on the couch trying to comprehend what just happened.

part 15
(sorry its been awhile, and sorry its short! im working on moree.)
It was a classic cat fight; hair pulling, scratching and screaming. Everett couldn't do much. Natalie glanced at him a couple times, and his eyes were a red and grayish color. The boys were screaming "fight fight!", ooing and laughing. Natalie had enough and attempted to stand. Alice got up with her, still pulling Natalie's hair. Natalie spun around and smacked her in the face. Then she grabbed Alice's shoulders, placed one foot behind Alice's leg and shoved her back. Alice tripped over Natalie's leg fell to the cement.
Natalie felt overwhelmed with strength and anger, but decided not to do anything else.
"I don't know what the hell is going on with you guys, and I dont know what i did to make you hate me, but I'm sick of it. I'm not gonna apologize. I'm sooo done with you all. When your not some bitchy freshman whores, let me know."
With that, she spun around, grabbed Everett's hand and led them all away from Alice, Emily, Megan and their friends, completely speechless.
After a couple minutes of walking silently while Natalie cooled off, and stopped gripping Everett's hand so hard, he spoke.
.."wowww.." his eyes were wide, and he stared straight ahead.
"What." Natalie asked, trying to not yell.
"You..you..woww.." Everett couldn't talk, he never ever thought sweet little Natalie could be such a good fighter, leaving Alice on the ground with bruises, on her skin and her pride.
"Alright then.." Natalie said. "Look. I'm sorry i sound like a b*tch right now, and I'm sorry I fought her. But shes such a..ughh."
Everett stopped her, motioning for the rest of the kids to keep walking. David and Avery got to the plaza just in time to witness the fight, and they were shocked. Natalie looked up at Everett, she felt so many emotions. She was scared, angry, sad and confused all at the same time. She felt tears beginning to fall down her cheeks. Everett hugged her and she broke down, in the middle of the plaza parking lot.
"I just beat up my best friend." Natalie sobbed, she was beginning to feel the bruises she received too.
"I know babe, it'll be okay though. Shes not a good enough person for you." He whispered.
"But I..what the fuc*.." Natalie said, letting a small smile through her tears.
Everett kissed her and she immeidiately stopped crying.
"Thanks.." Natalie said.
They joined the rest of the kids. Kristen walked on the other side of her and tried to comfort her. Kelly and the guys walked silently near Everett, who was holding Natalie's hand tight. They walked back to Everett's house for alittle, it was only 5:00.
