Don't go through life only thinking about the past.
Don't go through life only planning for the future.
Go through life living in the moment, and enjoying every minute of it.

    Years ago,
I didn't even know you existed.
    Months ago,
    I didn't like you.
    Weeks ago,
I didn't know you liked me back.
    Days ago,
I didn't think you would do anything about it.
    Hours ago,
I found out you no longer like me.
    Minutes ago,
    I was in tears.
    And now,
I'm just dreaming of what the future might hold.

My Teacher: I want you to go through this poem and underline what it says that has to do with Sleeping Beauty.
Will: But I don't know anything about Sleeping Beauty.
Paul: She's the one who ate the apple.
    Evan: No, that's Cinderella.
My Teacher: You guys don't remember any of these stories?
Dan: Oh yeah, she's the one with the long hair!

Guy friend: I like your shirt.
Me: Oh my god, thanks so much! I love this shirt! It's my favorite shirt! I picked it out myself, yanno.

    Chapter 2
    Jamie’s P.O.V
The bell rang and I darted out of first period. Someone grabbed hold of my hand as I walked out, but I immediately knew who it was.
“Hello, Nick,” I said, pulling my hand away.
“My new best friend doesn’t want to hold my hand?” he asked, giving me a fake pout.
“That’s a boyfriend-girlfriend thing, not a best friend thing,” I explained. He shot me a puppy dog face that was so cute, it was hard not to give in. “Would it really make you happy?”
“Yes,” Nick said, grabbing hold of my hand again. We were walking across the school to get to our lockers when bumped into my best friend, Allie.
"Oh my God! Hi!” she screeched before hugging me. Her gaze fell on Nick and she looked him over, as if inspecting him. “Can I talk to you alone for a second?” I shot Nick an I’m sorry look as Allie dragged me away.
“Who’s that boy? Is he your boyfriend? Why didn’t you tell me you had a boyfriend?”
“No! Nick is just a friend. We’re partners in ELA. That’s all, trust me,” I told her.
“Ha-ha, sure,” Allie said sarcastically, “Let’s be serious. What’s going on?”
“Nothing! I swear!” I screamed in a whisper. Looking over Allie’s shoulder to make sure Nick wasn’t here to hear this, I saw that he was, but he was talking to someone. Thank God.
“Why nothing? Have you not seen him? You guys should be dating already!” she lectured.
“Trust me, I wish we were,” I said in a hushed tone, “And I have seen him. He’s extremely attractive. There are probably tons of other girls crushing on him. So why on Earth would he choose me? The answer is that he wouldn’t.”
    Nick’s P.O.V.
I was awkwardly standing in the middle of the hallway, as I waited for Jamie to stop talking with her friend when my good friend, Andrew, came up behind me.
“Hey, Nick! I haven’t seen you since yesterday!” he said, jokingly, “Why are you standing in the middle of a hallway?”
"I’m waiting for Jamie to stop talking to her friend. We’re walking to our lockers together,” I explained. “Who’s this Jamie you speak of?” he asked, raising his eyebrow in suspicion.
“A friend,” I said, trying to seem casual about it.
“Oh, I see how it is. When did you two start dating?” Andrew asked, half joking and half serious.
“I told you, she’s a friend. I just met her. And we aren’t dating…..yet.” I muttered the last part under my breath, but he could hear me.
“Yet? Come on, Nick. Just ask her out already! How could she turn you down?”
“Just look at her. She’s absolutely beautiful, inside and out. She could easily get any guy in this school. Jamie wouldn’t want me, I can guarantee it.”

Ooh. That's exciting. I typed this chapter up at midnight, so I'm sorry if it's... bad. Oh, and I do notify, so, ya know. It'd be great if you'd read this story. It'd be just fantastic. K, bye now.

    Chapter 1
    Jamie’s P.O.V.
The next day, I rushed into the school, right to ELA.
“Hello, partner.” Nick was already in the room, sitting at the desk next to mine. “What’s the hurry?”
“I just… I like being the first one to class.” I lied. He gave me a knowing smile and looked away. I hated the thought that he might know what I was really up to.
The rest of the class filed into the room and Mrs. Hoover got started. “Today you will read chapter one, two, and three of the story and write a paragraph on the main character’s personality. I would help you, but I’ve never read this book, and don’t want to. So, get started.”
“Wow, Mrs. Hoover sure is enthusiastic about this,” I commented as she took out her phone and began playing on it.
“That’s for sure. She’s so inspiring,” he replied. We both looked at each other and started cracking up.
“Jamie, Nick! Get to work!” Mrs. Hoover yelled.
“What a hypocrite,” Nick muttered, making me want to laugh again. I looked down at the book we were supposed to be reading.
“Wow, this looks bo-oring. But we should probably start reading,” I said.
“Okay,” Nick agreed “I’ll read the first chapter.” He went on to read, and no matter how stupid the plot was, I was entranced. It was the way he spoke, his facial expressions, and the occasional hand gestures that had me so fascinated. He had a flow to his words that made it seem as if it was him who wrote the book. For the first time in ages, I enjoyed a novel.
He would also stop at times to tell stories or make jokes he had thought of while reading. I would just sit and listen, laughing at times. We were acting just like old friends. And I loved it.
“Once, my mom had me make dinner while she was at a meeting, but I accidentally burnt the spaghetti. So then I searched through my freezer and found a few microwavable spaghetti containers, heated them up, and my mom couldn’t tell the difference,” Nick told me, laughing.
“My mom would be able to tell in a second! She only cooks her own food, so she’s always saying how terrible store bought meals are. She’s practically a personal chef,” I explained.
    “You’re lucky.”
“I guess so,” I mumbled, “But you know what, Nick? I think ELA is my new favorite subject. Wanna guess why?”
    “Why?” he asked, smirking.
“Because my new best friend is in this class.”
“I was thinking the exact same thing.” Nick smiled. I smiled back.

Thank you to anyone who's reading this! So like, three people. But, whatever. Oh yeah, so I gave it a title and changed around the format, now that I know I'm gonna keep writing. Feel free to tell me if you think I'm wasting my time. Thanks! :)

    Prologue
    Jamie’s P.O.V.
It was the first day of school and I was nowhere near excited. Especially since I had ELA first period. As if I wasn’t falling asleep already!
“Hello class. My name is Mrs. Hoover,” my monotone teacher announced. “This year we will be focusing on reading comprehension and all of that fun stuff. Anyways, we will begin the year with partner reading. The book is called ‘The Savior’. I will announce two names. Both people come to the front of the room. They will become a pair.”
Oh great. I knew how this would end. All the girls in my class would be with their friend and I would get stuck with some creep. That is how partner work always went down.
“Jamie Walsh and Nicholas Arnold will be a pair,” Mrs. Hoover announced. At least the name sounded normal. I walked to the front of the class and turned around to see who was coming up.
The boy who came to my side had brown hair that flopped down to right above his eyes and tan skin. His hazel eyes sparkled as he smiled, looking over at me. I smiled back. Then Mrs. Hoover told us to go back to our seats, totally ruining the moment.
I walked back and slumped into my chair. As she finished up the partners, I began doodling. But I had a weird feeling there was someone watching me. I turned my head the slightest bit and glanced towards my new partner’s desk.
There he was, staring at me.

I decided to try writing a story. Anyone wanna read it? I apologize that I suck at writing stories, but I've got some good ideas. Thanks!:)
