Just the way I'm Not
The figure jumped a little at my high pitched scream.
"W-what the hell?!" They said, startled. I thought i recognized the voice, but i couldn't put a name on it.
"Who are you?!" I snapped, stepping back from them.
"It's me, Luke. Calm down." He chuckled to himself. I sniffled and wiped my cheeks.
"Gabriella..are you crying?" He asked, stepping closer to me. I stepped back again. I didn't want him to see my face. I didn't answer him, just swayed back and forth.
"Come with me to my house." He said, motioning for me to follow him. I didn't move. Not really in the mood to share my issues with a boy i barely know.
"I- I don't think that's a great idea right now.." I sniffled again. He sighed and took my arm.
"That wasn't a question." He said, gently guiding me to his house. I didnt fight him, but i dont know what he wants to talk about now..
We got to his house and stepped inside. He led me to the basement, or his bedroom.
"Sit." He demanded, pointing to a couch in the middle of the room. I breathed out sharp, getting annoyed with his commands. But I did what he told me anyways. He disappeared into another room and came out with a tshirt and shorts.
"Uhh, you can change if you want.." He said, tossing the clothes on the couch next to me. I looked at them and back up to him. He looked down at me and smiled a little.
"As good as you look in that dress, I'm sure it's not too comfy."
I sighed and picked up the clothes, then walked into his room. While I changed I observed all of the basketball trophies and jerseys lining the walls and floor.
I walked out of his room wearing his huge clothes, and threw my dress on the arm of the couch. He was right, it felt awesome to get out of that dress. I sat down on the couch next to Luke, but tried to avoid his eyes.
"So what happened?" He asked. I could feel his eyes on me. I wiped my eyes again, not caring if my makeup smudged. It was screwed up anyway.
"Nothing.." I sniffled, looking around on the floor.
"Obviously something happened. You wouldn't be crying."
"It's nothing. really..nothing you need to concern yourself with.." Luke shifted his position on the couch to face me.
"Would you rather have me guess?" He smiled at me. I didn't answer, staring blankly at his eyes.
"Kay..uhmm..someone at school hurt you..uhh..your beloved fish died while you were gone and he was your best friend that you can never replace.." He looked at me with the most serious face. I couldn't help but laugh at him.
"Your fish died and your laughing?!" He laughed while trying to yell.
"N-no...uhh..the..other one.."
