and he does that thing that they do in movies, when he runs up and picks me up by the waist. my arms go around his neck and my knees bend as he kisses me. and as we stand there, looking into each other's eyes i realize how much i really love him.
with my nose pressed up to the window pane, i watch the lights as now they dance in rain. i breathe out to make a canvas for your name. i can't relax, my shoulders carry the blame.
in seventh grade global studies class we were talking about chivalry. one day the teacher decided to pick on me and my crush because we sat in the front of the room. she said "here's an example of chivalry. say paul asks kate on a date. when he picks her up he opens the door to the car for her. say if it were raining, he'd either give her his jacket, or if he didnt have one he'd put his arm around her while they walk. and after the date when he drops her back off at home, he walks her to the front door. maybe even hugs and kisses her goodbye. thats chivalry." we were both completely redfaced and embarrassed as everyone in the class was staring at us. little did we know about a year and a half later we'd be dating. the other day i was at the park with him and it started to rain. we decided to walk to a pavilion. he put his arm around me. his sister called him as we were sitting in the pavillion with his arms wrapped around me. she asked if we wanted to be picked up and we said yes. when she came he opened the door for me and let me get in first. when she went to drop me off at home he got out of the car and walked me to the door and hugged and kissed me goodbye. maybe she knew what she was talking about. ♥
