i'm ashlee, and i'm 17 years old. i live in a crappy city in the heart of connecticut. my most favorite band in this entire world is a day to remember. they can make a completely crappy day turn amazing. i learned a lot of things in my life and i don't intend on getting rid of that because of people's insecurities. i add ski to the end of just about everything and i don't care if you think that's stupid :) i don't really know much about this witty thing, i'm a tumblr fan. i spend a lot of time on there but i actually love the idea of quotes more than photography. i think i'll warm up to y'all <3

my savior's

this is the band that saved my life. they are now a part of my everyday life and if i could tell jeremy, alex, neil, josh, and kevin one thing it would be that they absolutely inspired my life and that i love them for that. their music is my wake up call, my good night lullabye, and the thing that helps me day by day. i have a tattoo with their album name because that's just how much they impacted my life. i'm not a fan because i have a million shirts, or because i have every album, or even if i have that tattoo. i'm a fan because i connect with them in a way that i couldn't connect with in society. they helped me through my cutting, through the break ups, the tears, the fights, the everything. and the day that i do meet them, i will thank them for everything they've ever done for me.

there was a few things about my life i was unsure of.
one, where it was going to go.
two, who i was going to love.
three, if my parents would ever get better.
and four, if i will ever be good enough for anyone.
these questions linger in my head all day and i constantly wonder if i will ever find out.
i only had one real friend and her name was danni. danni and i grew up together and have been practically glued to eachothers sides since the third grade. we were now seniors, and i felt like we were parting our own ways.
i hated this idea because i was already alone. how the hell am i going to be able to function without danni by my side? we were like peanut butter jelly, batman and robin, mac and cheese and...well...you get the idea.
as i was starting to feel the change in our relationship, i knew i had to act - and fast. so i did what any best friend would do. i confronted her and told her we needed to go out and do something fun with our lives. i mean, fun wasn't nessesarily in our vocabulary, but that's why we need change. so we won't drift.
"dan, come on. just come out to panera bread with me tonight, and we can go to the arcade or movies or something." i was practically begging at this point.
"ashlee, you and i both know we don't do those kinds of things. besides, i need to fill out college applications tonight. seriously, we're not in high school anymore. it's time to do something productive." danni replied, as if this were not important.
"ugh, but dan. seriously, you have the whole summer to fill out thoseapplications."
"and we have the whole summer to go to the movies and panera." danni rolled her eyes.
"you know what, fine. whatever, i'll eat a bucket of chocolate ice cream and sob over titanic with nirvana." nirvana was my fat english bulldog.
i began to walk away towards the direction of florida in which i lived as i heard danni's steps closely behind me.
"ash, fine. okay, you got me. but you're buying me a brownie at panera!"
i was quite excited about my success in this arguement.

i was getting ready later that night, and danni was going to pick me up within the next 10 minutes. i looked okay tonight, i'm not just wearing victoria's secret sweatpants and i big t-shirt like ususal. i sported a fancy clearance hollister shirt and some shorts with flip flops. i straightened my hair so it was longer than usual, and i even put on some eyeliner. i really didn't look all that bad!
before i knew it, i heard danni's horn beep outside my window. i was finishing the touches on my makeup when my phone went off with her number. i answered in an aggravated tone, "yes, mother, i'm on my way out now."
i heard her laugh in response, and i headed out the door.
as i entered danni's car, i was welcomed by the smell of her strawberry air freshener and the annoying 'call me, maybe' song that seems to be all over the radio now.
"seriously, can you change this song?" i flipped my hair with frustration.
"yes, mother." her tone matched mine from earlier.
we drove off into the night.

panera bread wasn't so packed like usual. danni and i got our order in right away, and i began munching at my apple pie and ceaser salad within 5 minutes. danni and i were laughing and having a great time like the old days when i felt something cold on my shoulder. and wet.
"uh, can you watch where the hell you're going?" i realized someone spilt their drink on me.
"sorry, sorry. goodness, i'm so sorry."
as he reached for a napkin to whipe his mess and touch my shoulder, his eyes met mine.
that's when i saw it.
his eyes were kind and melted. they were the color of hershey's chocolate. and they were staring right back at me. but of course, i had to get nervous.
'well, i'm going to the bathroom." i ran off like a coward.
when i reached the bathroom, i looked in the mirror at my pathetic display of swag. that guy, he would never think anything of me. i'm horrid. but i've never seen a guy so beautiful.
i finished cleaning myself off and went back out to noticed the cutie was gone. as i returned to my seat, i sighed as danni was looking at me with a huge smile. great, she got the guys number.
"you got his number, didn't you?"
she quickly shook her head back and forth as she pointed to the napkin next to my plate. it read; "alex gaskarth- 812-555-1213<3"
and that's when my heart stopped.
