Live, Laugh, Love
Chapter 1
I walked into my new home, behind my foster sister, Kaylee. "Our parents are never home," she said. I looked around the living room. Everything was so... boring. The couch was a pukey green color. The television was old fashioned, and the stand was more like a coffee table. The curtains were gray with green stripes. The walls were white, which is a really annoying color to see every morning. "Come on, I'll show you your room," Kaylee said. I followed her down a long hallway, and then went up a flight of stairs. There was a small room with three doors, then she turned right. "This is your room," she said as she opened the door. I looked in. My room was huge! There was different color paints on the ground, and a lot of other things I could use to decorate my room. "You can use anything in here to create your room!" She said, "oh, by the way, my room is across the hall. Also, you have your own bathroom!" She took my arm and lead me into the bathroom. It had a huge bathtub, and a mirror that would remind you of something you would see in a movie stars room. "Well, I'll leave you too of making your room! I'll call you down when supper is ready," she walked out of my room. I took one more look of the bathroom, then walked into my bedroom. I picked two different colors for my room. Black, the main color that will be on my walls, and neon blue, to splatter on the walls.
When I finished my room, I stood in the doorway and looked around. Perfect. I smiled, and heard Kaylee say supper, so I ran downstairs. She had this guy over... I didn't know who he was. "Lizzie, this is my boyfriend Michael," she said. He smiled. "Hey," he said. Shyly, I said "hello". Kaylee put the food on the table. I sat down next to Michael. He turned to me. "So, Lizzie, how are you adjusting to your new home, and the beautiful state of California?" He said. I replied, "I really like the house. It's not what I expected for a foster house, you know? I'm so used to sleeping in the guest room or the couch, or even in my foster parent's room. This is such an adjustment," I said. He smiled. "I know what you mean, this house is amazing." I smiled. He's really, really nice! Kaylee turned to Michael. "She will start school tomorrow morning, she's in the same grade as us, I think," she looked at me, "you are in tenth grade, right?" I nodded. She smiled, "okay, then Michael and I will show you around!" We started eating, and so far, I love this house!
