Chapter 7 - Wait For Me
"Why were you talking to him?" He tried to sound angry, but his curiosity was way too overwhelming. "We had a few things to sort out," I reply, pushing past him. He wasn't exactly the person I wanted to get into this conversation with. He just spun around and followed me. "What sort of things?" Okay, now he was just being nosy, and he was also smothering me. I was tempted to snap at him, but decided at last minute to act calmly. "Listen, James, you're not exactly the person I need to be discussing this with." I sigh, looking at his defeated face. I thought, how to compliment him without leading him on that I was into him. I decided to screw it. "You're a great kisser and you're really sweet, but I have to work this out on my own, for right now that is," I added in so he didn't think I was a complete lost cause. I hadn't actually decided if I was going after him just yet. "Okay," He sighed, and started to walk away, but before he could I grabbed him into a hug. His arms that were once dangling by his sides were now grasping my waist firmly. I slipped my arms around his neck and move my mouth up to his ear. "Wait for me," I whispered in his ear, and I felt a shiver go through his body when I spoke. I gently kissed his lips and spun around and walked away. He was stunned for a moment as he stood in the middle of the hallway, but as I turned around the bend to the library, I saw him walk off. I blushed for a moment as I walked down to the library. At that exact moment, low and behold Daniel walks up the stairs. We hadn't spoke since the night of Madeline's party, and I was kind of missing him. He was so sweet and a great friend and I didn't even know how Melinda and him were doing since I hadn't spoke to Melinda much either. I should wait for him to come to me first, I thought silently, as a finger tapped my shoulder. Daniel? No. Cameron. I spin around and come face to face with Daniel's younger brother Cameron, who was my age. "Hey," He smiles. "We haven't talked since we met last year," He laughs, "Do you even remember me?" Duh of course I do. "Of course," I smile, peering around him to see where Daniel was. He was nowhere in sight. I missed him. Thanks Cameron. "Cool, well see you around Chelsea," He walks away. The swagger in his walk matches his brother's perfectly. The pants hanging low, the boxers puffed up and the strut to the walk reminded me of Daniel. It was cute. My purple cased iPhone vibrated from inside my tote bag. Melinda the screen read. I tapped it open. hey chelsea. i know we haven't talked in a while. we should though. so meet me at my lunch later? My fingers flew and tapped the letters out to a response. sure. see you then. I wasn't going to ask any questions, not over text message at least.
