I lay in bed early on a Saturday morning,
not knowing whether to get up and start the predictably uneventful day
or lay in bed ‘til about twelve in the afternoon,
when I’d feel obliged to move since I’d hear my parents muttering about how I ‘don’t do anything for this god damned family’.
When I thought about becoming a teenager I never thought it would be anything like this:
a boring uneventful life with around five friends who you only see for about three hours at school;
annoying as hell parents who have less trust in you than they did when you were three even though you do nothing anyway
and less of a social life than
a dead squirrel on a highway.
I thought I would be popular; different people to sit with every week, adventures, parties, boys.
However, this was not the case for me.
((as you can tell since I’ve stated it, if you can’t remember, then maybe you should pay a bit more attention))
I’m weird.
Not the kind of loud kid who everyone wants to be friends with because they’re so loud and ‘weird’, no,
I’m weird weird.

i made a quote about books and what i think about them,
lots of you commented on it saying that books get you through hard times
and it made me really proud of being surrounded
((on witty mostly))
by people like you,
even if you disagreed with what i said about sports,
you took it well
and were really friendly.
I've been on witty a while
but for me that's one of the first times something like that has happened
i really appreciated it.

Books
I really don’t like it when some people say that the people who read books are boring people, that writers are boring people.
It bothers me when they say that the most creative people on earth are boring.
I don’t know about you, but I really don’t know anyone who can change my whole perspective on life in different combinations of only 26 letters.
Not only that, books and poems have been around since 2000BC, and for people to still find something to write about is astonishing, the ideas are endless.
Books are also magical.
They take you to a whole different world, they play games with your emotions, they make you smile, they bring you anger and pain, and give you the kind of joy that real life can’t.
They make you insane, in a good way and sometimes in a bad way, but that’s what a good book does.
But in society, people who do sports are considered as 'cool', and those who read are the nerds, the ones who need to ‘get a life’.
However, in sports, you play a game, a game that if you practice long enough, you can nail it. And then what? Maybe you’ve got a crappy position in a game, so you try harder, until you move up. But then when you’ve got to the top, then what? You continue playing that same old game?
Over and over and over and over again.
Every weekday, or every weekend, or maybe just once a week.
But you’re going to get bored of it.
Sports have already been created, and there’s rules that if you break, you’re done with and there’s only so much you can do, there are limits.
But books… books are endless, they can literally create a new world within your mind and there are no limits to your imagination.
So I have a question.
What do you think about books?
